Mod Wiki
Ethereal Heartpiercer
Quickstart
- Craft the Ethereal Heartpiercer using either the standard crafting recipe or the smithing table upgrade path below.
- Hold it in your main hand or offhand — it works from either hand.
- Attack enemies from farther away than a normal weapon allows; it strikes targets up to 5 blocks away.
- Land kills to claim "souls." Each soul permanently boosts your damage and health for as long as you carry the streak.
- Die, and your accumulated souls are lost — start building your streak again.
Overview
The Ethereal Heartpiercer is a single, powerful spear-like weapon found in the Combat creative tab. It behaves like an ethereal trident/sword hybrid: it moves faster than most weapons, reaches farther than a normal melee weapon, and grows more dangerous the more kills you rack up without dying.
What It Adds
- Ethereal Heartpiercer — a unique handheld weapon with extended attack range, bonus speed, and a scaling damage/health system tied to kills.
Crafting And Obtaining
You can obtain the Heartpiercer in two ways:
Standard Crafting

Smithing Table Upgrade
Alternatively, upgrade a trident using a smithing table, a Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template, and a Nether Star:

Abilities And Mechanics
- Extended Reach: The Heartpiercer lets you hit enemies up to 5 blocks away, well beyond normal melee range.
- Speed Boost: While held, it grants a noticeable movement speed increase (equivalent to Speed IV).
- Lunge: Attacking with the weapon has a strong forward lunge effect (Lunge IV), letting you close distance quickly.
- Base Damage: It hits as hard as a weapon enchanted with Sharpness X.
- Soul-Claiming: Every kill you land with the Heartpiercer claims a "soul":
- You gain +1 permanent sharpness level per soul (stacking on top of the base Sharpness X).
- You gain +2 extra max health per soul.
- You are healed for 2 health immediately when claiming a soul.
- A message confirms each soul claimed and your current soul count.
- Soul Cap: Souls cap at 25 — beyond this point, further kills no longer add bonuses.
- Losing Your Streak: If you die, all claimed souls are wiped, your bonus health and damage reset, and you must start building up souls again from zero.
Progression And Strategy
- Treat every kill as progress: the longer you survive with the Heartpiercer in hand, the stronger and tankier you become.
- Because souls reset on death, prioritize survival over reckless aggression once you've built up a strong streak.
- The extended reach and lunge make the Heartpiercer excellent for hit-and-run tactics — strike from range, then retreat before enemies can close the distance.
- Since it counts as a sword-type weapon, it benefits from sword-related interactions while still functioning as your primary means of claiming souls and scaling your power throughout a playthrough.
