Overview
The Engraved Sealing Stone is an uncommon, glinting item that lets you pocket a single living mob and carry it anywhere. It is perfect for moving animals between farms, relocating passive mobs, or simply transporting a creature without needing a lead or boat.
What It Adds
- Engraved Sealing Stone — a non-stackable, hand-held item that stores one mob at a time. Its enchantment glint signals when you are carrying a captured creature.
How To Use
Capturing a Mob
- Stand within 5 blocks of the mob you want to capture.
- Aim your crosshair toward it and right-click (use the item in the air).
- The stone scans for the nearest capturable mob you are looking at and seals it inside, removing it from the world instantly.
- A confirmation message tells you what was captured.
Releasing a Mob
- Right-click on any block surface while holding the filled stone.
- The stored mob spawns at that location.
- The stone is emptied and ready to capture again.
Feedback Messages
- If no valid mob is in range, the stone tells you nothing capturable is nearby.
- If the stone is already holding a mob and you try to capture again, it reminds you to release the current occupant first.
- Targeting an uncapturable entity produces a specific warning.

What can be captured: Any living mob that has health — animals, monsters, and most neutral creatures.
What cannot be captured: Players, boss-type entities, dropped items, projectiles, and XP orbs.
Because the stone does not stack, the captured mob's data is stored safely on that specific item in your inventory and will not be lost by stacking or sorting.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft the Engraved Sealing Stone at a crafting table using Obsidian, Ender Pearls, and a Stone block:
The stone can also be repaired at an anvil using regular Stone blocks, restoring 4 durability per stone used.
Progression And Strategy
- Early game: Craft the stone as soon as you have Ender Pearls and Obsidian to start moving animals between your starter base and a new location without building long fenced corridors.
- Mid/late game: Use it to relocate rare or hard-to-find mobs (such as specific animal variants) from distant biomes back to your base.
- Keep a spare: With only 16 durability, consider keeping a second stone in your inventory for long relocations. Repair both at an anvil between trips.
- One at a time: Plan your captures — the stone holds only one mob, so prioritise which creature needs moving most urgently.
