Ender Star

Quickstart

• In Survival, look for an Ender Star in the dim areas of the End. It spawns alone.
• For an immediate encounter, find the Ender Star Spawn Egg in Creative inventory and use it on the ground. With commands enabled, use /summon com_ender_star_6fcj6fe6:mycustom.
• Keep away from void-side ledges: its tendril attack deals 8 damage and inflicts levitation for 20 seconds.

Overview

The Ender Star is a large hostile mob of the End. It hunts players and Endermen, and can be difficult to push away. Watch your footing around islands and exposed edges when one is nearby.

What It Adds

One hostile mob: the Ender Star. It has 48 health and a tall, broad body.

How To Use

There are no items to equip or special controls to learn. Find one in the End, or spawn one with its egg or the command above. Give it space to approach, and avoid fighting near the void.

Crafting And Obtaining

There is no crafting recipe. Ender Stars spawn naturally on the surface in the End when light levels are low (0–7), or can be spawned with the Creative egg or command.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Tendril attack: When close enough and with a clear line of sight, it strikes for 8 damage (4 hearts) and causes levitation for 20 seconds.
• Targets: It seeks players and Endermen.
• Knockback resistance: It is very difficult to knock back.

Progression And Strategy

Fight on broad, enclosed ground rather than near a drop. Keep distance and use ranged attacks where possible; if levitated, move back toward safe ground as soon as you can.

A defeated Ender Star drops 2–5 string. Player kills can also yield 1–2 Ender Pearls (35% chance) or 1 Chorus Fruit (12% chance); Looting improves the pearl and string drops.
