Description
/summon com_ender_hugger_pqsjqk7q:myenderman
There is no crafting recipe for the Ender Hugger.
The Ender Hugger is a persistent Enderman monster that hunts players across the Overworld, Nether, and End. It can target players from a long distance, teleport repeatedly, and continue pursuing you even when you are in Creative mode.
It is designed as a chase and survival threat rather than a normal melee mob. Barriers, darkness, and ordinary attacks are not reliable ways to escape it.
You can encounter it naturally or spawn it directly:
/summon com_ender_hugger_pqsjqk7q:myenderman.The entity is persistent after spawning, so it does not simply disappear when you travel away.
The Ender Hugger can acquire players in two ways:
Once it has chosen a target, it can continue tracking and reselecting players within 256 blocks.
The Ender Hugger can target Creative players. When it reaches a nearby Creative player and performs its close-range strike, that player can be switched to Survival mode.
This makes it useful for Creative-mode chase challenges, escape maps, and surprise encounters. Wearing a carved pumpkin prevents the gaze-based targeting effect, but it does not make you immune to the monster's general player targeting.
The Ender Hugger can be named with a Name Tag.
The Ender Hugger teleports frequently, usually every half-second to two seconds. It can teleport through a large area around its target and is not restricted to dark locations.
Because it can teleport toward a target and has a 256-block follow range:
At irregular intervals, the Ender Hugger clears blocks around itself to make room for movement. It can destroy blocks in an area roughly five blocks wide, five blocks tall, and five blocks deep around its position.
Do not rely on a small bunker or a narrow tunnel to contain it. Valuable builds near the monster may be damaged.
When it takes damage, it becomes angry and enters a berserk state:
The Ender Hugger has 200 health, or 100 hearts, and ordinary incoming attacks do not deal normal damage to it. Attacking it is therefore dangerous and may make the chase harder.
The Ender Hugger is immune to fire, but it is hurt by:
It avoids water and cannot path over it normally, but its teleportation and block-clearing abilities make water-based traps unreliable. Lava damages it more quickly, but the monster can still teleport away.
The Ender Hugger:
Its normal attack has no standard health damage, but the close-range attack is still dangerous to Creative players because of its ability to force them into Survival mode.
Natural spawning is available on Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty, but not Peaceful. The Ender Hugger spawns in low light, generally at light levels 0–7.
| Dimension | Spawn locations |
|---|---|
| Overworld | Surface and underground areas in monster-spawning biomes |
| Nether | Underground areas in Nether biomes that support Enderman spawning |
| Nether | Warped Forests |
| The End | Surface areas of the End |
It normally spawns alone. End-spawn conditions give it a higher spawn weight than the other listed locations.
