Description:
.mcaddon and create a new world with both the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack active./locate biome com_empire_of_the_blood_moon_6mfn7vi3:nyc_biome to find the NYC Apocalypse biome, then teleport there.Empire Of The Blood Moon transforms your overworld into a post-apocalyptic survival gauntlet. Two fully custom biomes — a ruined NYC cityscape and the twisted Bloodmoon Wastes — sprawl across the world, each packed with unique enemies, structures, and escalating danger. A living mutation engine gives every zombie a unique name and powers that grow stronger with each passing in-game day, while a horde controller sends waves of enemies at you every night. Survive long enough and the world itself becomes unrecognisable.
| Biome | Locate Command |
|---|---|
| NYC Apocalypse | /locate biome com_empire_of_the_blood_moon_6mfn7vi3:nyc_biome |
| Bloodmoon Wastes | /locate biome com_empire_of_the_blood_moon_6mfn7vi3:bloodmoon_wastes |
NYC Apocalypse is a dense urban ruin featuring:
Bloodmoon Wastes is a corrupted wasteland that is the home territory of the Bloodrot Zombie — the primary enemy of the night-horde system.
| Entity | Where It Spawns | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| NYC Apocalypse Zombie | NYC Apocalypse biome | Common street enemy; spawns in groups of 2–4 |
| Subway Zombie | NYC Apocalypse biome | Found in stations and tunnels; spawns in groups of 2–4 |
| NYC Survivor | NYC Apocalypse biome (daytime) | Rare friendly NPC; spawns alone or in pairs |
| Bloodrot Zombie | Bloodmoon Wastes; horde waves everywhere | The horde enemy; spawns in groups of 2–4 naturally, and in large waves at night from Day 5 onward |
All zombie types have spawn eggs available in Creative mode, and burn in daylight like standard zombies. If submerged in water long enough, they will convert into Drowned.
Use /locate biome to find either custom biome, then teleport to the coordinates it returns. The biomes generate as part of the standard overworld and are found by simply exploring, but the locate command saves time.
Every player sees a persistent action bar message while the mod is active:
Apocalypse Day 3 | Tier: street rot | Mutations 482, 91034, ... | Horde 0 | Next wave 42s
Starting on Night 5, a wave of Bloodrot Zombies spawns around each player every 45 seconds while it is nighttime. Waves spawn in a ring roughly 22–40 blocks away from you so they close in quickly. The number of zombies per wave scales with the day count:
Every seventh Apocalypse Day, the night becomes a Blood Moon. The time is forced to night and a thunderstorm begins. Horde waves are larger, and all zombies carry the day's maximum mutations. Survive until morning to break the event.
Every zombie that spawns — including vanilla zombies — is automatically mutated by the day's active mutation pool. Each zombie receives:
The mutation pool is deterministic per day — all five variant IDs are the same for every zombie that spawns on a given day, refreshing at dawn. With up to 15,000,000 possible variant numbers, no two days feel identical.
All zombie types share these traits:
Killing custom zombies drops loot at their location:
| Enemy | Drops |
|---|---|
| NYC Apocalypse Zombie | Rotten Flesh (0–2); rare chance of Iron Ingot, Carrot, or Potato |
| Subway Zombie | Rotten Flesh (0–2); rare chance of Iron Ingot, Carrot, or Potato |
| Bloodrot Zombie | Rotten Flesh (0–2); rare chance of Iron Ingot, Carrot, or Potato |
The rare drop chance is low (~2.5%) but increases slightly with Looting enchantments.
The threat tier displayed on your HUD tells you what to expect as the days climb:
| Day Reached | Tier Name |
|---|---|
| Day 1–9 | Street Rot |
| Day 10–14 | Nuclear |
| Day 15–24 | Nuclear Mutant |
| Day 25–29 | Mutant Nuclear |
| Day 30–44 | Radioactive |
| Day 45–49 | Nuclear Sirenhead |
| Day 50–74 | Nuclear King Kong Boss |
| Day 75–98 | Mutant Goatman |
| Day 99+ | Chernobyl Military Shooters |
Early game (Days 1–4): Explore the NYC biome safely during the day. Loot stations and tunnels, find NYC Survivors, and build a defensible base before night horde waves begin.
Mid game (Days 5–29): Horde waves start. Stay mobile at night, use chokepoints, and watch the "Next wave" timer so you're never caught in the open when a wave drops.
Late game (Days 30+): Zombies gain Resistance on top of Strength and Speed. Bloodrot wave sizes grow. Prioritise high-damage weapons and armour. Every seventh night will be a Blood Moon — these are the hardest nights and require preparation.
