Quickstart

1. Craft an Emerald Sky Key with four emeralds and an ender pearl:

1. Hold the key and use it (right-click) to travel to the Emerald Skylands. Use it again there to return to the Overworld.
2. Explore the floating islands and bring an iron pickaxe or better to mine Skylands Emerald Ore.
3. Try a Verdant Sky Tonic before crossing large gaps; it grants Slow Falling, Speed II, and Night Vision.

The key is reusable, so keep it with you while exploring.

Overview

The Emerald Skylands is a dimension of floating islands high above open space. Islands have Emerald Skygrass on top, dirt beneath, and Skylands Stone in their cores. Scattered Skylands Emerald Ore provides another way to gather emeralds.

What It Adds

• Dimension: Emerald Skylands, reached with the Emerald Sky Key.
• Blocks: Skylands Stone, Emerald Skygrass, Skylands Emerald Ore, and the craftable Emerald Skylands Block.
• Gear: An emerald sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe, and a full armor set.
• Consumable: Verdant Sky Tonic.

How To Use

Use the Emerald Sky Key while holding it to travel between the Overworld and the Emerald Skylands. It takes you to the Overworld spawn when returning, and to the skylands when entering.

Watch your footing on the islands: there is no terrain below them. The Verdant Sky Tonic can help with risky crossings or falls.

Crafting And Obtaining

Skylands Emerald Ore is found within island stone. Mine it with an iron pickaxe or better to obtain emeralds; Fortune can increase the drops. Skylands Stone also requires an iron-tier pickaxe: without Silk Touch it drops cobbled deepslate, while Silk Touch lets you collect Skylands Stone. Emerald Skygrass drops itself.

Craft the decorative Emerald Skylands Block from emeralds, or break it back down into nine emeralds:

Make a Verdant Sky Tonic from a glass bottle, an emerald, and a phantom membrane: . Use it from your hand to drink it; the tonic is consumed.

Abilities And Mechanics

The Verdant Sky Tonic grants:

• Slow Falling for 90 seconds
• Speed II for 60 seconds
• Night Vision for 90 seconds

Progression And Strategy

Craft the key first, then use island ore to build up emerald supplies for gear and tonics. Bring a pickaxe that meets the iron-tier requirement, and keep the key handy for the return trip. Use a tonic before a dangerous crossing when you want more time to steer a fall or better visibility.
