Elemental Toolstorm Aetherbound
Quickstart
- Craft an Elemental Codex and use it to open the mod’s menu.
- Craft an Aether Keystone . Use it and choose the option to travel to the Aether.
- Explore the sky islands and mine glowing Aether Crystal Ore with a pickaxe. Watch for hostile Aether Wisps.
- Craft an Aether Blade from two Aether Crystals and a stick. Use it for a leap and brief Slow Falling; hitting an enemy grants you short-lived combat effects.
You can also make a 4-block-wide by 5-block-high Glowstone frame and use a water bucket on its rim to open the travel menu. Use the Keystone again when you want to return.
Overview
The playable adventure centers on the Aether: travel there, collect crystals, face Aether Wisps, and make the Aether Blade. The Codex also opens a small, preset-based Creation Workshop for building nearby structures.
The Codex’s Armor guide says armor progression is not currently playable. Its other guides cover weapons, tools, elements, creation, cities, and Aether travel.
What It Adds
| Content | What you can do |
|---|---|
| The Aether | Explore generated sky islands, find crystal ore, and gather Aether materials. |
| Aether Wisps | Fight hostile flying creatures that can drop Aether Crystals. |
| Aether Blade | Use its aerial leap and Slow Falling effects to move and fight. |
| Creation Workshop | Place a nearby house, sky tower, garden, or city-block blueprint. |
| Elemental Codex | Open brief guides and the Creation and Aether menus. |
Aether blocks include Aether Skygrass, Aether Soil, Aether Cloudstone, Angelwood Logs and Leaves, and Aether Crystal Ore. The ore glows and drops Aether Crystals when mined.
How To Use
Codex and travel
Use the Elemental Codex to open its menu. Choose AETHER for the travel menu, or CREATION and CITIES to open the building form. The Aether Keystone also opens the travel menu; choose the trip offered for your current location.
For the frame route, build a complete Glowstone outline 4 blocks wide and 5 blocks high. Use a water bucket on a Glowstone block in the frame and choose the Aether trip from the menu.
Creation Workshop
Open CREATION or CITIES in the Codex, enter a description, choose a blueprint style, set the footprint from 8 to 24 blocks, then select Build nearby. The blueprint appears roughly 7 blocks ahead of you, so face an open area before building.
The description helps select a built-in style; it does not generate arbitrary structures from every detail in the text. The available styles are House, Sky tower, Garden, and City block, as well as Interpret description. Building fills blocks in its footprint, so choose a clear spot.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft these items at a crafting table:
Elemental Codex — eight paper and one diamond.
Aether Keystone — Glowstone, an Ender Pearl, and Prismarine Crystals.
Aether Blade — two Aether Crystals and one stick.
Mine Aether Crystal Ore with a pickaxe to collect crystals. Aether Wisps can also drop crystals when defeated.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Aether Blade: Has 10 attack damage and 420 durability. Using it gives a short Jump Boost and Slow Falling effect; the leap ability has a brief cooldown. Hitting an enemy grants you short-lived Strength and Slow Falling.
- Aether Wisps: Hostile, flying enemies that appear around players in the Aether on non-Peaceful difficulty. They have 20 health, deal 6 attack damage, and can drop Aether Crystals.
- Aether materials: Cloudstone is suited to a pickaxe, Aether Soil and Skygrass to a shovel, and Angelwood Logs to an axe.
Progression And Strategy
Start by crafting the Keystone and Codex, then travel to the Aether and gather crystals from ore and Wisps. Bring a pickaxe for ore, keep an eye out for flying attackers, and craft the Aether Blade once you have enough crystals. Its leap and Slow Falling can help with movement among the sky islands.
For building, try a modest footprint first and check the area in front of you before submitting a blueprint.
