Quickstart

• For an immediate tour in Creative, take a Realm Compass and Astral Rune Stone from the inventory. Build a flat, upright 4-block-wide by 5-block-tall frame of Astral Rune Stone, leaving the middle 2 × 3 blocks empty. Use the compass on a frame block, choose a realm group and destination, then step into the filled opening.
• For survival crafting, a Realm Compass uses amethyst, copper and an Ender Eye: . Astral Rune Stone uses Obsidian, Rift Shards and Glowstone Dust:

• Try a focused compass for the Echoing Expanse, Ocean, Moon or Frost realms. Each needs its matching frame material; see Portal travel below.
• Once you arrive, explore and mine the realm’s unusual blocks and ores. Bring food, armor and a weapon if you plan to face the Rift Sentinel.

Overview

Eight Hundred Realms is an exploration and combat mod built around the Astral Marches and a wide range of themed dimensions. Each offers its own terrain, blocks and discoveries. Use compasses and constructed gates to travel, gather rare materials, and take on powerful creatures.

What It Adds

• Realms and terrain: The Astral Marches, Echoing Expanse, and themed destinations including Mushroom, Ocean, Moon, Frost, Ruby, Crystal, Void, Heaven and Solar Worlds.
• Blocks and plants: Realm stone types such as Emberstone, Froststone, Umbral Shale and Star Sandstone, plus plants including Ember Bloom, Starleaf, Frostbell and Void Thistle.
• Ores and materials: Rift Ore, Mythic Ore, Echo Ore, Prism Ore and Astral Gold Ore, alongside materials such as Meteorite Fragments and Abyssal Coralstone.
• Creatures: The Rift Sentinel, Echo Stalker, Supreme Golem, Heavenly Angel and Jesus, Healer of Heaven.
• Craftable equipment and utilities: Realm-travel compasses, the Riftblade, Echo Pike, Mythic Glaive, Life Fruit and dimensional spreaders.

How To Use

Portal travel

In the Overworld, the Realm Compass works with an Astral Rune Stone frame and opens a menu for choosing a realm group and destination. The menu includes groups such as Original Realms, Solar Worlds and other themed destinations.

Specialized gates have narrower destinations:

A gate frame is a 4 × 5 rectangle, with its middle 2 × 3 blocks left open. Use the matching compass on a block in the completed frame to select its destination and fill the opening. To return from a realm, make a matching frame there and use its compass; the destination offered is Return to Overworld.

The Random Compass instead takes you directly to a random realm other than the one you are currently in. It is consumed when used.

Dimensional spreaders

Place an Astral, Frost or Void Dimensional Spreader and interact with it to convert nearby suitable terrain to its themed surface and subsurface blocks. These spreaders have a short cooldown, so wait before using one again.

Crafting And Obtaining

Rift Shards are a key material for Astral Rune Stone and other crafting. Look for Rift Ore and Mythic Ore as you explore; the Rift Sentinel may also drop a shard when defeated. Echo Stalkers can drop Echo Ore.

Other realm materials have building and crafting uses: for example, Lifeheart Logs make Lifeheart Planks , and Star Sand can be crafted from ordinary Sand . The Orbital Pickaxe Cannon and its ammunition are also craftable: .

Abilities And Mechanics

• Life Fruit increases your maximum health when used, up to five times. It also restores your health after use.
• Dimensional spreaders change nearby suitable blocks to their associated terrain palette when interacted with.
• The Rift Sentinel is a major combat challenge. Bring dependable armor, food and weapons; the Sentinel can drop Rift Shards.

Progression And Strategy

Start by exploring a realm and gathering its distinctive blocks and ores. Rift Shards help you craft Astral Rune Stone, which opens access to the broad destination menu through a Realm Compass. Specialized compasses and frame materials offer more direct trips to particular realms.

Carry blocks and supplies for a return gate when travelling, and save rare materials for the equipment and utilities that suit your next expedition.
