Quickstart

1. Craft the Diamond Battle Axe using diamonds and sticks at a crafting table:

1. Place it in your main hand.
2. Left-click to swing and attack normally.
3. Right-click (hold) to charge up a powerful cleaving swing.
4. Sneak + Right-click to cycle between the axe's modes.
5. Try jumping from a height and landing a left-click attack — the fall distance supercharges your hit.

Overview

The Diamond Battle Axe is a single, powerful weapon that goes far beyond a standard axe. It combines high base damage, a brutal cleaving swing, and a ground-pound mechanic that rewards aerial combat. It carries diamond-grade durability and has the enchanted glint on its item icon. Its tooltip reads "Pixel Gun 3d Ahh Weapon" in gray.

Sneak + Right-click rotates through the available combat modes. Each mode changes how the axe's right-click ability behaves.

Abilities And Mechanics

Cleaving Swing (Right-click)

Hold right-click to charge the axe (takes about 1 second / 20 ticks). When released, the axe performs a wide arc sweep in front of you:

• The closest enemy in the arc takes 18 damage (primary hit).
• All other enemies caught in the arc take 8 damage (sweep hit).
• Enemies are knocked back in the direction away from you.
• If no enemies are hit, a sweep particle and sound still play, and a short cooldown applies.

The sweep range extends roughly 4.5 blocks forward and 2 blocks wide on each side.

Ground Pound (Left-click after falling)

If you fall more than 1.5 blocks and then land a left-click attack on an enemy:

• Bonus damage is added based on fall distance: fall distance × 3, capped at 50 bonus damage.
• Your own fall damage is cancelled entirely.
• A shockwave erupts around you, dealing 30% of the bonus damage to all nearby enemies (within ~4 blocks) and knocking them outward.
• Explosion and smoke particles plus a ground-smash sound signal the impact.

The higher you fall before striking, the more devastating the blow — so launching from a cliff or using an Elytra into a fight can be extremely effective.

Base Stats

The axe counts as an axe for all vanilla purposes (wood breaking, stripping logs, etc.).

Progression And Strategy

• Early use: Craft it as soon as you have diamonds. It matches diamond tool durability, so it won't burn through resources faster than a normal diamond axe.
• Ground pound opener: Start fights by jumping off terrain and landing the first hit — even a 5-block drop adds 15 bonus damage on top of the base swing.
• Crowd control: Use the charged right-click sweep when surrounded. The primary target takes massive damage while nearby enemies get pushed back and damaged too.
• Mode cycling: Sneak + right-click to explore each mode and find the one that suits your playstyle for different encounter types.
• Combine with knockback: The sweep's knockback can push enemies off ledges or into environmental hazards for bonus pressure.
