Quickstart

Craft the goggles at a crafting table:

Equip them in your helmet slot. While worn, they provide Night Vision and Speed I and scan nearby blocks for ores and structure landmarks. Watch the action bar for the nearest find’s coordinates and distance; particles help point out the targets. The first scan may take a little time.

You can also hold the goggles and use them to trigger Night Vision.

Overview

Diamond Nightseer Goggles are a wearable helmet for exploring dark areas and locating valuable blocks. Their scanner checks a sphere up to 50 blocks around you, including through terrain, but can only inspect loaded chunks.

What It Adds

The goggles can detect:

• Ores: coal, iron, copper, gold, redstone, lapis, diamond, and emerald ores; Nether gold ore, Nether quartz ore, and ancient debris.
• Structure landmarks: spawners, trial spawners, vaults, chests, barrels, End portal blocks, amethyst clusters, chiseled bookshelves, decorated pots, suspicious sand and gravel, lodestones, beacons, and conduits.

These are block landmarks, not a complete outline of a structure. Flame particles mark ores; heart particles mark structure landmarks.

How To Use

• Wear the goggles in your helmet slot to keep Night Vision active and gain Speed I.
• The action bar reports the nearest detected target as an Ore or Structure, with coordinates and distance.
• If no targets have been found yet, the action bar says the goggles are scanning. Move around to explore new areas; the scan refreshes as you travel.
• Use the goggles in hand for a brief Night Vision effect.

Crafting And Obtaining

The crafting recipe uses glass, golden carrots, diamonds, and a netherite ingot. The goggles have 363 durability and 3 armor protection. They can be repaired with diamonds.

Abilities And Mechanics

Night Vision and Speed I are maintained while the goggles are equipped. The scanner searches up to 50 blocks away and marks detected ores and landmarks with particles. Its results depend on nearby chunks being loaded.

Progression And Strategy

Follow the nearest-target coordinates, then move and allow the scan to catch up as you search. Use the ore markers to guide mining and structure landmarks to help locate notable blocks underground or nearby.
