Desert Patrol Humvee

Quickstart

1. Craft the Desert Patrol Humvee item at a crafting table (see recipe below).
2. Hold the item and use it (tap/right-click) on the ground to deploy the vehicle. You are mounted automatically the moment it spawns.
3. Drive using your normal movement controls. The camera switches to third-person automatically.
4. Dismount by sneaking (crouch). Walk back up to the Humvee and interact with it ("Drive Humvee") to remount.
5. While driving, tap the action button to sound the horn.

Overview

Desert Patrol Humvee adds a large, drivable military patrol vehicle finished in desert camouflage livery. It occupies a multi-block footprint and functions as a fully rideable entity that a player can steer anywhere on solid ground. It is designed for long overland patrols, base-to-base travel, or simply adding military atmosphere to a desert build.

How To Use

Deploying the Humvee

Hold the Desert Patrol Humvee item and use it on any flat ground surface. The vehicle assembles itself and you are seated inside automatically—no separate interaction needed.

Driving

All movement is handled with your standard movement keys/joystick. The Humvee follows your input direction and moves at a consistent speed across the ground. It avoids water and damage blocks where possible.

Camera

When seated, the camera automatically pulls back into a third-person view at an extended radius, giving you a clear look at the vehicle and surroundings.

Horn

While mounted, tap the action button (the button shown in your action bar) to sound the patrol horn. There is a short cooldown between uses.

Dismounting and Remounting

• Sneak (crouch) to dismount at any time. You are placed on top of the vehicle.
• Walk up to the Humvee and interact with it (the prompt reads "Drive Humvee") to get back in.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Health: The Humvee has 60 HP. It can be damaged and destroyed, so avoid combat situations if possible.
• Physics: Gravity applies—park on level ground to prevent sliding.
• Single seat: Only one player can drive at a time.
• Horn: Plays the distinctive patrol sound at full volume. A ~1.5-second cooldown prevents spam.
• Pushable: The vehicle can be nudged by players and pistons.
• No water travel: The Humvee is a land vehicle; it avoids water paths automatically.

Progression And Strategy

• Early crafting: The recipe calls for iron ingots, iron blocks, and a furnace—all accessible in early to mid survival progression. Gather iron as your first goal.
• Patrol routes: The Humvee excels at covering large overland distances quickly. Use it to connect distant bases or explore desert biomes efficiently.
• Protect your vehicle: With 60 HP it is durable but not invincible. Keep it away from creeper explosions and sustained mob attacks.
• Parking: Always park on flat terrain. Because gravity applies, a sloped surface may cause the vehicle to drift.
