Deepforge Fortune Pickaxe

Quickstart

Craft the pickaxe using one of the crafting-table recipes or the smithing recipe below. Hold it and mine a block to break a 3×3 plane around that block automatically. Try mining into a wall first; aim down to mine a horizontal layer instead.

The pickaxe also boosts drops from blocks broken in that surrounding area, and automatically smelts iron, gold, and copper drops into ingots.

Overview

Deepforge Fortune Pickaxe is a powerful mining tool built for clearing stone and ore in a wider area. Its area mining follows the direction you face: looking sideways clears a vertical plane, while looking up or down clears a horizontal plane.

What It Adds

The mod adds one item: the Deepforge Fortune Pickaxe. It has 2,500 durability and supports pickaxe enchantments.

How To Use

• Hold the pickaxe and mine a block to trigger area mining. The surrounding blocks in the 3×3 plane are broken along with it.
• Aim carefully before mining: the plane is perpendicular to the direction you face.
• Fast mining is supported for stone, cobblestone, granite, diorite, andesite, deepslate, cobbled deepslate, tuff, calcite, coal, iron, copper, gold, redstone, lapis, diamond, and emerald ores, plus ancient debris.

Crafting And Obtaining

There are two shaped crafting-table recipes and one smithing-table recipe. The smithing option uses a diamond pickaxe, a netherite ingot, and a Coast Armor Trim Smithing Template. The recipe previews show the ingredients and layouts:

Abilities And Mechanics

• Wide mining: Breaking a block also breaks blocks in the surrounding 3×3 plane. Empty positions do not produce drops.
• Extra drops: Drops from eligible blocks broken in the surrounding area are tripled, in a Fortune III-style effect. Eligible drops include coal, diamonds, emeralds, lapis lazuli, redstone, quartz, amethyst shards, and gold nuggets.
• Auto-smelting: Iron, gold, and copper drops from the surrounding area become ingots. Their bonus yield is included.

Progression And Strategy

Use the pickaxe to clear an exposed ore vein or a section of stone at a time. Check your aim before mining near builds or other blocks you want to keep—the 3×3 area can break more than the single block you target.
