Cursed Brute Dash
Quickstart
- Open your inventory and find the Cursed Brute Shrine in the Functional blocks tab (or use
/give @s cursed-brute-dash-jjyiu6jr:cursed_brute_shrine).
- Place the shrine anywhere in the world.
- Right-click the shrine to summon a Cursed Brute Dash directly on top of it.
- Be ready to fight — it will immediately aggro you.
⚠️ Do not summon the brute without good armor and weapons. It hits hard enough to instantly kill a player in copper armor.
Overview
Cursed Brute Dash adds a powerful hostile mob — the Cursed Brute Dash — along with the Cursed Brute Shrine used to call it into the world. The mob does not spawn naturally anywhere; every encounter is intentional, triggered by placing and using the shrine. This makes every fight a deliberate challenge rather than a random encounter.
What It Adds
| Content | Type | Description |
|---|
| Cursed Brute Dash | Mob | Large, fast, hard-hitting cursed enemy |
| Cursed Brute Shrine | Block | Summons the mob when right-clicked |
| Cursed Brute Dash Spawn Egg | Item | Directly spawns the mob (Creative mode) |
How To Use
The Cursed Brute Shrine
The Cursed Brute Shrine is a placeable block found in the Functional items group. It is mined with a pickaxe and drops itself when broken. Place it on the ground and right-click it to trigger a summon.
- On summon, a loud warden-like sonic charge sound plays.
- The Cursed Brute Dash spawns directly above the shrine and immediately targets you.
- 1 in every 50 summons produces a Boss Cursed Brute Dash instead, announced by a wither-spawn sound and marked with a visible name tag above its head.
You can reuse the shrine as many times as you like — it is not consumed on use.
Abilities And Mechanics
Cursed Brute Dash (Standard)
The standard variant is 20% larger than a normal zombie, wears a dark cursed skin, and is significantly more dangerous than any base-game zombie.
| Stat | Value |
|---|
| Max Health | 80 HP (40 hearts) |
| Attack Damage | 35 (17.5 hearts) |
| Armor | 8 |
| Knockback Resistance | 60% |
| Follow Range | 40 blocks |
| Movement Speed | Fast (0.32) |
| XP on Death | 30 |
Special Behaviors:
- Dash Attack — Periodically launches at its target at extreme speed (2.5× dash velocity), closing distance instantly. The dash recharges roughly every 3 seconds.
- Darkness & Weakness on Hit — Each successful hit inflicts the Darkness and Weakness status effects on the target.
- Enrage When Injured — Becomes more dangerous as its health drops.
- Sonic Roar — A warden-like roar sound plays on summon, signaling the charge.
Boss Cursed Brute Dash (Rare)
A 1-in-50 shrine summon produces the boss variant. It shares the same model but has greatly amplified stats and displays "Boss Cursed Brute Dash" as a visible name above its head.
| Stat | Value |
|---|
| Max Health | 200 HP (100 hearts) |
| Attack Damage | 55 (27.5 hearts) |
| Armor | 16 |
| Knockback Resistance | 90% |
| Dash Cadence | Faster than standard |
| XP on Death | 120 |
The boss is nearly immune to knockback, making kiting very difficult. Ranged attacks, high-tier armor, and strength potions are strongly recommended.
Progression And Strategy
Preparation before summoning:
- Wear at least iron armor — copper armor provides insufficient protection against even a single hit.
- Diamond or netherite armor is recommended for the boss variant.
- Bring a shield; blocking can reduce incoming damage significantly.
- Stock up on milk buckets to clear Darkness and Weakness after hits.
Fighting the standard brute:
- The dash is telegraphed by a brief pause before the lunge — strafe sideways to reduce direct hits.
- Keep your distance between dashes and land ranged attacks or critical strikes during the cooldown window.
- The 40-block follow range means retreating is rarely effective once it has targeted you.
Fighting the boss:
- Its near-total knockback resistance means melee combos will not push it back.
- Use hit-and-run tactics with a bow or crossbow.
- Fire Resistance potions won't help, but Strength II and Resistance potions will.
- The boss awards 120 XP on death — a significant reward for a difficult encounter.
Farming tips:
- Build an arena around the shrine with walls to prevent the brute from wandering.
- Lure it into a trap or funnel before engaging.
- The shrine is reusable, so you can grind the boss variant by repeatedly summoning until the rare 1-in-50 roll hits.
