Crimson Wounds brings a realistic bleeding system to Bedrock Minecraft. Any organic entity — players, animals, villagers, NPCs, and most living mobs — will bleed when hurt. The amount of bleeding, how long it lasts, and how dramatic it looks all scale with the damage dealt. When a bleeding entity dies, it leaves a larger, lingering blood pool at the site.
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Body particles | Red particles emit from a wounded entity while it bleeds |
| Ground drips | Blood drops fall to the ground beneath the injured entity |
| Blood pools | Temporary pools form on the ground; larger ones appear at death sites |
| Action-bar indicator | Players see their own bleeding severity and countdown timer |
When you are hurt badly enough to bleed, your action bar displays one of three severity levels:
The indicator updates every second and disappears automatically when bleeding stops. There is nothing you need to press or activate — just watch the timer and be aware of your condition.
Mobs and animals bleed visually the same way. Look for:
Bleeding severity (1–5+ internally) and duration both scale directly with the amount of damage an entity receives in a single hit. A light tap causes brief, faint bleeding; a powerful blow causes prolonged, severe bleeding with denser visual effects.
When a bleeding-eligible entity dies, it leaves a noticeably larger blood pool at its location. This pool is temporary and will eventually disappear on its own.
The system automatically covers:
Projectiles and explosives never trigger bleeding.
The total number of blood pools allowed in the world at one time is capped to keep the game running smoothly, especially in combat-heavy situations.
