Quickstart

1. Open a Crafting Table and craft a Chinese Flag on a Pole item (see recipe below).
2. Hold the item and place it on any solid surface while facing the direction you want the flag to face.
3. The multiblock structure — pole, finial, base, and flag — assembles itself automatically in the direction you were facing.

Overview

Crimson Banner Pole adds a tall, decorative Chinese flag display to your world. The structure features a red flag bearing the classic yellow star arrangement, mounted on a metal pole complete with a finial at the top and a broad base at the ground. It is purely decorative and is designed for use in builds, public squares, ceremonial areas, or any scene that calls for a striking national flag display.

How To Use

Placing the Flag

Hold the Chinese Flag on a Pole item and right-tap/use it on a block. The direction you are facing at the moment of placement determines which way the flag and pole will orient — north, south, east, or west. The full multiblock structure spawns automatically around the placement point, so make sure there is enough open space nearby (roughly 3 blocks wide and 5 blocks tall).

Removing the Flag

The individual blocks that make up the flag pole can be mined by hand. Each segment takes about 1.5 seconds to break. You can dismantle the structure piece by piece as needed. The blocks have no explosion resistance, so they can also be cleared with explosives.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the placer item at a Crafting Table using the following materials:

• 2× Red Wool
• 2× Yellow Dye
• 2× Iron Ingot
• 1× Stick

All ingredients are obtainable in survival: red wool from sheep or crafting white wool with red dye, yellow dye from dandelions or sunflowers, iron ingots from smelting iron ore, and sticks from planks.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Directional placement: The flag always faces away from you when placed, so position yourself thoughtfully before placing to get the orientation you want.
• Multiblock assembly: A single placer item spawns the entire structure at once — you do not need to place each piece individually.
• Solid collision: Each segment of the pole and flag has physical collision, so players and mobs cannot walk through it.
• No light emission: The structure does not glow; use your own lighting to illuminate it at night.

Progression And Strategy

• Gather iron, wool, and dye early in a survival playthrough — all materials are available before you reach the Nether.
• Plan your placement space before crafting: the assembled structure occupies roughly a 3×5 block footprint, so clear the area first.
• Face the exact cardinal direction you want before placing — once the multiblock is built, re-orienting it requires mining down the old one and placing a new item.
• Multiple flags can be placed side by side or in a row to create grand ceremonial entrances or town squares.
