Quickstart

1. Craft a Creeper Cake using the recipe below, or find one as a rare drop in any chest loot.
2. Shift + right-click on any solid surface to place it in the world.
3. Once placed, right-click the cake to eat slices — but watch out, eating it from your hand is a different (and explosive) experience!
4. For a fun tactical trick, hold the Creeper Cake in your hand and right-click a Creeper to send it into a dancing frenzy before it flees.

Overview

Creeper Cake adds a single, rare decorative food item: a beautifully detailed creeper-themed cake. It fits in a standard one-block cake footprint but sports a custom 3D model — green frosting on top with a raised creeper face, vertical green-to-brown layered sides, and a brown breaded bottom. It functions as both a decorative block and a usable food source, with a secret interaction tucked away for creeper wranglers.

How To Use

Placing the Cake

• Shift + right-click on a block surface to place the Creeper Cake.
• The cake faces away from you when placed, just like a normal vanilla cake.
• If there isn't enough room, you'll see the message: "The Creeper Cake needs more room."

Eating from a Placed Cake

• Right-click a placed Creeper Cake to eat a slice, restoring hunger just like a vanilla cake.
• Multiple players can share slices from the same placed cake.

Eating from Your Hand (Dangerous!)

• Hold the Creeper Cake and right-click (without sneaking) to eat it directly from your inventory.
• Eating it this way triggers an explosion at your location (power 2.5) in addition to restoring hunger. Use with extreme caution!

Taming the Beast: Creeper Interaction

• Hold a Creeper Cake and right-click directly on a Creeper.
• The creeper will dance for about 3 seconds — spinning, jumping, emitting note and happy-villager particles, and playing chime sounds.
• After dancing, the creeper flees away from you for a randomized duration of roughly 5–10 seconds, during which it cannot explode.
• Heart particles and a special sound play when the interaction triggers.
• This interaction consumes the Creeper Cake (unless you're in Creative mode).

Craft the Creeper Cake at a crafting table using milk buckets, gunpowder, a vanilla cake, and eggs:

Alternatively, the Creeper Cake has a very rare chance (0.1%) of appearing inside any naturally generated chest (dungeons, mineshafts, temples, etc.), making it a coveted treasure find.

Abilities And Mechanics

Dance & Flee (Creeper Interaction)

When fed a Creeper Cake, a creeper enters two sequential phases:

Once the effect expires, the creeper returns to normal behaviour.

Hand-Eating Explosion

Eating the cake directly from your hand triggers a TNT-strength explosion (power 2.5) centered on you. This can destroy blocks and deal damage. Placing the cake first and eating slices from it is the safe approach.

Progression And Strategy

• Early game: Keep an eye out for the Creeper Cake in chest loot — its 0.1% spawn chance makes it a rare and exciting find.
• Combat utility: The dance-and-flee mechanic is a genuine tactical tool. If a creeper is about to blow up your build, right-clicking it with a Creeper Cake will freeze its fuse and send it running for several seconds — buying you time to escape or finish it off safely.
• Decoration: A placed Creeper Cake makes a great thematic decoration in creeper-themed builds, mob museums, or prank rooms.
• Risky snack: Eating it from your hand is a high-risk, high-reward gag — the explosion can be used creatively (breaking blocks, surprising other players on a server), but you'll take the blast damage too unless you're well-armored.
