Cosmic Haven Trader
Quickstart
- Find him in a village — The Cosmic Haven Trader spawns naturally as a permanent resident in roughly 1 in every 5 Overworld villages (plains, desert, savanna, taiga, snowy, and more). He never despawns, so once he's in a village he stays there for good.
- Spawn him manually — In Creative mode, grab the Cosmic Haven Trader Spawn Egg from the Spawn Eggs tab and right-click any ground block.
- Right-click to interact — Right-clicking opens a custom cosmic menu, plays his voice line, sends you a quirky cosmic message in chat, and instantly grants you Luck I (30 s) and Regeneration I (10 s), plus blasts nearby hostiles away.
- Pick an action — Use the menu buttons: Follow, Stay, Wander, Fight, Gift, or Trade. Hit Trade to open the villager-style shop.
Overview
Cosmic Haven Trader is a Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.5 (Java Edition) that adds a single rare mystical merchant who takes up permanent residence in Overworld villages. He wears a black hoodie and cap, sports a bald head and goatee with a skeleton logo, and brings cosmic wit, passive luck auras, repel magic, and starry combat to your world. He has 30 health (15 hearts) and takes only half damage from all sources.

How To Use
The Cosmic Menu
Right-clicking the Trader opens the Cosmic Haven Trader menu — a spacious cosmic-themed panel larger than the standard trading screen. It also applies interaction effects (see below) on a 3-second cooldown.

Trading — Multi-Currency
The Trader accepts Emeralds, Gold Ingots, and Silver Ingots (from any loaded mod that registers a silver_ingot item) at equal 1:1 value. You can split payment across both merchant input slots — for example, 1 Gold Ingot + 2 Emeralds for a trade that costs 3. The trading screen shows Emeralds as the placeholder currency, but any combination of the three currencies works.

Cosmic Gifts
Pressing Gift gives you one random item from this pool:
- Amethyst Shards (1–3)
- Glowstone Dust (2–5)
- Lapis Lazuli (2–6)
- Gold Nuggets (3–8)
- Ender Pearl (1)
- Echo Shard (1)
If your inventory is full the item drops at your feet.
Abilities And Mechanics
On Interaction (right-click, 3-second cooldown)
- Plays the Trader's custom cosmic voice line.
- Sends a random cosmic message in chat — "Keep building kingdoms, king.", "The universe said fuck it, so you should too.", "Stars align for those who show up.", and more.
- Grants Luck I for 30 seconds and Regeneration I for 10 seconds to the interacting player.
- Triggers Cosmic Repel (see below).
Cosmic Repel
All hostile mobs within ~12 blocks are knocked back away from the Trader and hit with Slowness III and Weakness II for 5 seconds.
Passive Luck Aura
Every 30 seconds, all players within ~10 blocks automatically receive Luck I for 20 seconds — no interaction required.
Fight Mode — Cosmic Magic Combat
In Fight mode the Trader scans up to ~18 blocks for slimes and hostile mobs. When a target is found:
- He moves toward it.
- Every ~1.75 seconds (while the target is within ~20 blocks and in line of sight) he fires a Cosmic Magic Projectile — a glowing energy bolt trailed by purple, blue, and gold End Rod and Witch particles.
- He swings his arm with each shot.
Switching to Wander or any other mode immediately cancels Fight mode and clears his target.
Crafting And Obtaining
There are no crafting recipes. The spawn egg is found only in the Spawn Eggs tab of the Creative inventory. In survival, encounter the Trader by exploring villages — he appears in roughly 1 in 5 villages across all Overworld village biomes and is permanently tied to that village once spawned.
Progression And Strategy
- Early game: Right-click the Trader before engaging nearby mobs — Cosmic Repel buys breathing room and Regeneration provides a safety window.
- Village defence: Set him to Fight + Stay to create a stationary cosmic guardian who automatically targets and blasts any hostile that wanders into the village.
- Passive income: Simply staying within 10 blocks grants rolling Luck buffs, improving loot from chests and fishing over time.
- Exploration companion: Use Follow mode while exploring to keep his passive aura active and have him handle hostile encounters with his projectile attacks.
- Trading economy: His three-currency system means Gold Ingots and Silver Ingots are equally useful as Emeralds — smelt your gold ore surplus and put it toward trades.
- Keeping him safe: He takes half damage but can still be worn down by large groups. In survival, consider walling off his guard spot or keeping him away from explosive mobs.
- Multiplayer: All aura buffs, Cosmic Repel, interaction messages, and combat abilities apply to every nearby player simultaneously, making him a strong communal asset on servers.
