Craft the shears at a crafting table using two copper ingots placed diagonally:

Equip them, then attack a sheep to shear it. To harvest a shearable block, use the shears on it; you can also mine certain blocks faster with them.

Overview

Copper Shears are a reusable tool for shearing sheep and harvesting blocks. They have 238 durability and can be repaired with copper ingots.

How To Use

• Shear sheep: Attack an unsheared sheep while holding the shears.
• Harvest blocks: Use the shears on a shearable block to remove it.
• Mine faster: Hold the shears while breaking leaves, cobwebs, wool, vines, glow lichen, or moss carpets.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the shears at a crafting table with two copper ingots placed diagonally, as shown in Quickstart. The recipe unlocks when you obtain a copper ingot.

Repair the shears with copper ingots; each ingot restores an amount equal to 5% of maximum durability.

Abilities And Mechanics

Successful sheep-shearing and block-harvesting actions wear down the shears. At 238 durability, they break and leave your hand.

Repeated qualifying uses build an oxidation counter. At 40 counts, you receive Slowness for 3 seconds, and the counter resets.

Progression And Strategy

Keep copper ingots available to repair the shears. Use them for foliage and other listed blocks when clearing an area, and bring them along when you want to shear sheep without switching tools.
