Colossal TNT

Quickstart

1. Gather 8 TNT and 1 Nether Star.
2. Craft the Colossal TNT block at a Crafting Table (recipe below).
3. Place the block somewhere open — far from anything you want to keep.
4. Right-click (interact) the block to arm it.
5. Run. You have 3 seconds before detonation.

Overview

Colossal TNT adds a single, devastatingly powerful explosive block to Minecraft. One detonation unleashes a chain of explosions across a 150-block radius, effectively reducing an enormous sphere of terrain to rubble. It is the ultimate tool for large-scale demolition — or catastrophic accidents.

What It Adds

How To Use

1. Place the Colossal TNT block on the ground.
2. Interact (right-click / tap) the block to arm it. You will see the message: "Colossal TNT armed! Detonating in 3 seconds…"
3. The block vanishes and the explosion sequence begins, rippling outward in concentric waves from the origin point.
4. All players on the server receive a broadcast warning the moment it detonates.

⚠️ Warning: The blast destroys terrain in a full 150-block sphere. Do not use near builds, players, or anything you wish to preserve. There is no way to cancel the detonation once the block is armed.

Crafting And Obtaining

The Colossal TNT block is crafted at a Crafting Table. The recipe unlocks automatically once you have both TNT and a Nether Star in your inventory.

Breaking the placed block (before arming) drops it as an item, so you can safely reposition it if needed. Breaking it takes about half a second.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Concentric shell explosions: The blast fires in dozens of expanding spherical shells, each packed with individual TNT summons, spreading outward from the origin up to 150 blocks away.
• Terrain carving: Each shell also carves out blocks at each explosion point, ensuring massive, clean crater formation across the full radius.
• Fuse timer: 3 seconds (60 ticks) from the moment you interact with the block.
• Zero explosion resistance: The block itself is instantly destroyed by any nearby explosion, so a chain reaction from other TNT will also trigger the sequence.
• Flammable: The block ignites and is destroyed immediately by fire.
• Map color: Appears bright red on a map.

Progression And Strategy

• Obtain a Nether Star first — this requires defeating the Wither, making Colossal TNT a late-game item.
• Choose your detonation site carefully. The 150-block radius means anything within that sphere — ores, structures, mobs, and terrain — will be obliterated.
• Use for mining at scale: A single detonation can expose enormous quantities of underground terrain at once, though most of the ore will be destroyed along with the stone.
• Never arm indoors or underground unless total destruction of the surrounding area is your goal. The explosion reaches from bedrock to the build height limit if placed near mid-elevation.
• Keep a safe distance well beyond 150 blocks before detonation to avoid damage from the outermost blast shells.
