City Designer

Quickstart

1. Craft the City Designer at a crafting table:

1. Place it in a clear area. Right-click the placed City Designer to open the City Designer Satellite View.

2. For the fastest start, click Auto 100+. This builds a large road grid, houses, a Tentacle Stadium, and a Norbitz Heaven Dome around the designer.

3. Try the Tentacle Stadium first: right-click its tentacle stand. The arena activates, a glass dome appears, an Arena Bot is summoned, and nearby players receive Grappling Guns.

4. Try Norbitz by standing near the dome and running:

   /game begin norbitz
   

   The entrance seals and Speed VI activates inside. Use the Norbitz Blaster to knock the bouncing redstone cube through the covered goals.

5. To swing with a Grappling Gun, right-click toward a block or entity. Hold right-click to pull toward the anchor, use W to reel in, and use S to pay out the cable. Press the attack button to release.

Overview

City Designer is a city-building tool and activity hub centered on two playable arenas:

• Design streets and buildings from a satellite-style planning screen.
• Populate the city with houses, Suit Allays, and urban scenery.
• Activate a large grappling arena inside a glass dome.
• Start Norbitz matches with a bouncing redstone cube, colored goals, and blaster equipment.

Generated city structures are protected during normal play. Build and revise them from the City Designer interface, or use Creative mode when you want to dismantle them.

What It Adds

City planning

The satellite planner displays a 100×100-block map around the City Designer. It includes:

• Quartz Rectangle — a tall quartz house with blue windows and a flat crowned roof.
• Deepslate Rectangle — a dark tower-house with terraced roofing.
• Brick Boulevard Tower — a warm brick tower-house with a mansard roof.
• Oak Gable House — a wooden house with a gable roof and jump stairs.
• Tentacle Stadium — a large grappling arena with a glass dome and animated tentacle.
• Norbitz Heaven Dome — a gold-and-quartz sports dome with goals and a Norbitz Ball.
• Curved Road — a road-drawing tool for connecting your buildings.

Normal houses receive indoor and outdoor Suit Allay residents. Roads can also support City Car traffic.

City Designer items

The mod includes:

• Grappling Gun
• Norbitz Blaster
• Norbitz Gold Goal
• Norbitz Blue Goal
• Norbitz Goal Net
• Norbitz Goal Roof
• Norbitz entrance pieces used by the dome

The goals and entrance pieces are normally assembled automatically as part of a Norbitz Dome.

How To Use

Using the satellite planner

Right-click the City Designer or any of its visible parts to open the planner.

• Place a building: select a building from the palette, drag it over the map, and release.
• Move around the map: click and drag the satellite view.
• Inspect a location: hover over the map to view block and coordinate information.
• Scroll the palette: use the mouse wheel, Page Up, Page Down, Up, or Down.
• Close the planner: press Esc.

You must remain within 64 blocks of the City Designer while placing content. Planner actions must remain within 500 blocks of it.

Random houses

Click Randomizer to roll a procedurally varied house. The preview shows its dimensions, roof style, materials, and theme.

• With Palette: ON, the roll stays within a coordinated material theme.
• With Palette: OFF, the roll can use a more open selection of materials.
• Click the map to place the previewed house.

Roads

Select Curved Road to enter road-drawing mode.

1. Click or drag across the satellite map to sketch a route.
2. Press Build or Enter/Space to place it.
3. Use right-click or Backspace/Delete to remove the last point.
4. Press Clear to erase the entire unfinished route.

The planner displays guidance for straight routes and keeps a center line on completed roads.

Auto-generating a city

Click Auto 100+ to generate a complete city layout centered on the City Designer. It creates:

• More than 100 house lots.
• A full road grid.
• Randomized building designs and palettes.
• A Tentacle Stadium.
• A Norbitz Heaven Dome.
• Suit Allay residents in the generated buildings.

Use the satellite map to explore the generated layout after the operation finishes.

Crafting And Obtaining

The City Designer is the mod's craftable centerpiece. Its recipe becomes available after joining a world and uses a crafting table.

The Grappling Gun and Norbitz Blaster are also available in the Creative inventory. The stadiums provide their main equipment during play:

• Activating a Tentacle Stadium issues Grappling Guns to up to two nearby players who do not already have one.
• Creating a Norbitz Heaven Dome spawns the Norbitz Ball, builds both goals, and equips nearby players with Norbitz Blasters if they are not already holding one.

Abilities And Mechanics

Grappling Gun

The Grappling Gun fires a cable toward the point you are looking at.

• Right-click to launch the hook.
• The hook can attach to blocks or entities.
• Hold right-click after attaching to pull toward the anchor.
• W reels the cable in and pulls you toward the anchor.
• S pays the cable out, allowing a wider swing.
• A, D, W, and S can all help pump your movement while hanging.
• Press the attack button to release the grapple.
• The cable reaches up to 50 blocks.
• A second right-click does not replace an active anchor; release the current grapple first.

Use high anchors and build speed through the bottom of the swing for the longest launches.

Tentacle Stadium

The Tentacle Stadium is a 200×200×100 arena designed for grappling battles.

Right-click its tentacle stand to activate it. Activation:

• Builds the arena's glass dome.
• Summons an Arena Bot skeleton with a bow.
• Gives Grappling Guns to eligible nearby players.
• Starts the tentacle's animated movement.

To power down a Tentacle Stadium, walk into the marked center circle after it has been active for a short time. The dome and Arena Bot are removed.

Norbitz

The Norbitz Heaven Dome is a 200-block-wide covered sports arena with:

• A redstone-textured Norbitz Ball.
• A Gold goal and a Blue goal.
• Passable goal nets and covered goal roofs.
• A center line and entrance.
• Norbitz Blasters for nearby players.

Run /game begin norbitz near an inactive Norbitz Dome to start a match. The entrance closes and players inside the dome receive Speed VI while the match is active.

Moving the ball

The Norbitz Ball bounces and responds to nearby players.

• Walk close to it to push it away from you.
• Use the Norbitz Blaster and right-click to fire a straight laser burst.
• A successful shot can knock the ball up to 30 blocks away.
• You can also strike the ball with ordinary attacks to give it an impulse.

Scoring

Send the ball through the open net area of the opposing goal while it is between the goal's height limits.

• The Blue team scores in the Gold goal.
• The Gold team scores in the Blue goal.

The current score is announced to nearby players. After a goal, the ball returns to the center of the dome.

Suit Allays

Generated houses contain persistent Suit Allays in different outfits, names, and personalities.

Interact with an Allay to:

• Hear local dialogue.
• Receive a quest if it is a quest-giver.
• Repeat its most recent line.

You can also look directly at a Suit Allay and press O to open the dedicated chat screen. Type a message and press Enter to send it.

Quest-givers request one of the following deliveries:

Hold the requested items and interact with the quest-giver to complete the delivery. Each quest is completed once for that resident.

Progression And Strategy

1. Craft and place the City Designer.
2. Use Auto 100+ to establish roads, homes, residents, and both arenas.
3. Visit the houses and talk to Suit Allays to find quest-givers.
4. Practice grappling in the Tentacle Stadium before entering Norbitz.
5. In Norbitz, assign players to pressure the ball, control the center, and defend the goal mouth.
6. Use the Norbitz Blaster for long-range shots, then approach the ball to redirect its bounce.
7. Reel in with W for height and momentum, and pay out with S when you need a wider swing around an arena anchor.
