Chromatic Chests

Quickstart

1. Get a chest or trapped chest and any dye.
2. Hold the dye, sneak, and interact with the chest.
3. Look for colored particle accents near its upper corners. Use a different dye the same way to change the color.

Applying dye does not open the chest. In Survival, one dye is consumed; in Creative, dye is not consumed.

Overview

Chromatic Chests lets you mark regular and trapped chests with colored particle accents. The mark is saved with the world, so the color remains associated with the chest.

What It Adds

The mod uses the 16 standard dye colors: white, orange, magenta, light blue, yellow, lime, pink, gray, light gray, cyan, purple, blue, brown, green, red, and black. It adds no separate chest or dye items.

How To Use

Sneak and interact with a chest while holding the dye for the color you want. Dyeing a marked chest replaces its previous color. The particles appear when you are within 20 blocks of the chest.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Marks persist in the world and can be recolored at any time by applying another dye.
• Breaking or replacing a marked chest removes its mark.
• Up to 200 chests can be marked in a world.
