Chest Cow

Quickstart

1. Find a Chest Cow wandering in plains, forests, or near villages — or use the Chest Cow Spawn Egg (found in the Spawn Eggs creative tab) to summon one instantly.
2. Right-click the Chest Cow to open its 27-slot inventory (a full 9×3 chest grid).
3. Store whatever you like inside. The inventory saves when you log out and reloads when you return.
4. Keep the Chest Cow alive — if it dies, all stored items scatter on the ground.

Overview

Chest Cow adds a single new passive mob: a cow with a chest-patterned hide that acts as a living, portable storage unit. It wanders the world peacefully, ignores food, and cannot be bred or milked. It is purely a storage companion.

What It Adds

How To Use

• Open inventory: Right-click the Chest Cow with an empty hand. A standard 9×3 chest GUI opens titled with the mob's name. Deposit and withdraw items freely.
• Close inventory: Press Escape or close the screen as you would a normal chest.
• Sounds: The Chest Cow plays chest-open and chest-close sounds in place of normal cow sounds.

Abilities And Mechanics

• 27-slot portable storage — full chest capacity you can access anywhere the cow roams.
• Inventory persistence — stored items are saved to the world and restored when you log back in.
• Item drop on death — killing a Chest Cow scatters all its contents on the ground. Protect it!
• Cannot be bred, milked, or fed — wheat and other breeding items have no effect.
• Silent movement — the Chest Cow makes no footstep sounds.
• 10 health points (5 hearts) — somewhat fragile, so keep it away from danger.
• AI: Swims, wanders, and looks at nearby players. It will not flee or attack.

Progression And Strategy

• Early game: Summon or locate a Chest Cow and use it as a mobile base chest while exploring. Keep it in a safe pen when not in use to avoid losing your stored items.
• Village use: Chest Cows occasionally spawn near village houses and meeting points, so check villages on a new world for a free early storage companion.
• Multiple cows: You can maintain several Chest Cows, each holding a different category of items (tools, food, building blocks, etc.) for organized portable storage.
• Protection tip: Build a small fenced area or use leads to keep your Chest Cow out of harm's way — hostile mobs, falls, and other hazards can kill it and dump its entire contents.
