Description
Chessbound Blocks adds a placeable miniature chessboard with detailed 3D pieces. Challenge another player or an AI, select a piece to highlight its legal moves, then click a highlighted square to move it across the 8x8 board.

Quickstart
- Craft and place a Mini Chessboard in a clear, level area with room for an 8×8 board and headroom.
- Interact with the placed board and choose Play against AI for a solo game or Play against another player for two-player chess.
- You play White and move first. Interact with one of your pieces to highlight its legal moves, then interact with a highlighted square to move there. In a two-player game, the other player takes Black on their first turn.
Interact with the board controller again to reset the match and choose a mode again.
Overview
Chessbound Blocks turns a placeable board into a playable chess match, complete with detailed 3D pieces and legal-move highlights. The board sets up the pieces automatically when you start a game.
How To Use
- Select a piece: Interact with a piece belonging to the side whose turn it is. Its legal destination squares are highlighted.
- Move: Interact with a highlighted square. An illegal move is rejected; select a piece again to choose another.
- Cancel selection: Interact with the selected piece again.
- Play with another person: The player who starts is White. The first player to make a Black move takes control of Black; that side stays assigned to them for the match.
- Reset: Interact with the controller and start a new game. This replaces the current position.
The action bar shows whose turn it is and how much time remains. Each turn has a 30-second limit. Checkmate, stalemate, or a timeout ends the match and clears the board; after that, place another Mini Chessboard to play again.
Abilities And Mechanics
The game follows chess movement and blocks illegal moves, including moves that leave your king in check. It supports castling, en passant, and pawn promotion to a queen. Captured pieces are displayed beside the board; a captured piece may also be added to the capturing player’s inventory if there is room.
The Chessbound AI plays Black by choosing a legal move, making it a casual opponent. A checkmate awards 8 gold nuggets.

The following white chess-piece items place individual 3D pieces for display. They are not needed to start a match, since the board sets up a full set automatically.
