Celestial Pacts And Infernal Trials
Quickstart
- In Survival, craft a Soul Shard, an Infernal Covenant Altar, and a Heaven Gate Seal. The Seal opens a portal to Heaven when used outside it; use it again there to return to the Overworld.
- For a first demon pact, select a contract with
/celestial select demon ashfang. Kill 10 hostile mobs and gather Ashfang’s offering: 16 coal, 4 blaze powder, and 1 magma cream. Right-click the altar to offer your materials. - To challenge an unlocked demon, hold the Heaven Gate Seal and sneak-right-click the altar. To try a boss immediately, use
/celestial boss demon 1 0(this summons Ashfang without following the contract path). - Check requirements and progress with
/celestial contractsand/celestial status. For angel contracts, you’ll need verified good deeds; operators can record milestones with/celestial verify.
Overview
Choose infernal contracts for combat power, earn angel blessings through deeds and trials, or pursue both. Your progress is tracked for your player. Named contracts have specific material offerings and goals; meeting them at an altar unlocks their tier and its powers.
There are 19 named demons and 19 named angels across five tiers. Higher-tier bosses are tougher and use distinct attacks.
What It Adds
| Content | Use |
|---|---|
| Infernal Covenant Altar | Offer the active contract’s materials; challenge an unlocked demon with the Heaven Gate Seal. |
| Soul Shard | Crafting ingredient and the demon pact’s respawn tithe. |
| Heaven Gate Seal | Travel to or from Heaven; in Heaven, it can also draw a guardian into battle. |
| Judgement Sigil | Starts Judgment Day in Heaven once you reach Angel Tier 5. |
| Nether Star Core | Required for Elysarion’s contract offering. |
| Echo-Bound Relic | Required for Xytherion’s contract trial. |
Boss roster
For the summon command, entries are listed in zero-based index order: the first name in a tier is index 0, the next is 1, and so on.
| Tier | Demons | Angels |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Ashfang, Grimbleed, Noxling, Rotthorn, Embermaw | Lumiel, Aureli, Seraphel, Caelith, Elarion |
| 2 | Varkul, Dreadveil, Zarvex, Malgrath, Nyxara | Valerion, Thamiel, Oriphiel, Zephrael, Solmara |
| 3 | Dravok, Velkris, Azrathiel, Kharzun, Morvath | Ignariel, Aetherion, Elyndor, Chronael, Vaelion |
| 4 | Belzareth, Xytherion, Vaelkor | Michaelion, Razielis, Seraphion |
| 5 | Azrakael | Elysarion |
How To Use
- Select a contract:
/celestial select <demon|angel> <name>; for example,/celestial select angel lumiel. The latest selection is the altar’s active offering contract. - Check requirements:
/celestial contractslists contracts and unmet goals or materials./celestial statusshows your tiers, deeds, unlocked contracts, and heart sacrifices. - Offer materials: Right-click an altar normally, or use
/celestial offer. Required items are consumed when the contract is ready. - Challenge a demon: Select and unlock its demon contract, then sneak-right-click an altar while holding the Heaven Gate Seal.
- Challenge an angel guardian: In Heaven, use the Seal without sneaking if you have Demon Tier 1 or higher. It summons a guardian for your current demon tier. Sneak-use the Seal in Heaven to return to the Overworld.
- Summon a roster boss directly:
/celestial boss <demon|angel> <tier> <index>. This can summon a boss without completing its contract. - Begin Judgment Day: Reach Angel Tier 5, then use a Judgement Sigil in Heaven to summon Elysarion. Defeating the Celestial Sovereign earns a Judgement Sigil.
Crafting And Obtaining
Use these crafting recipes:
Heaven Gate Seal

Judgement Sigil

Nether Star Core

Infernal Covenant Altar

Soul Shard

Defeating a summoned demon yields two Soul Shards. Defeating a regular angel boss yields a Judgement Sigil.
To obtain the Echo-Bound Relic, select Xytherion’s contract and use a relic on a sculk catalyst in the Deep Dark at light level 7 or lower. Return the relic to your altar without dying. If you die during this trial, select Xytherion again to restart it.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Demon power improves with tier: Strength at Tier 1, Speed at Tier 2, Resistance at Tier 3, and Fire Resistance at Tier 4. Strength and other effects improve at higher tiers.
- Angel blessings grant Regeneration and Speed from Tier 1, Resistance from Tier 2, and Absorption from Tier 3; higher tiers strengthen these effects.
- Bosses have large health pools, scaling damage, and special attacks. Expect effects such as blasts, dashes, curses, pulls, and healing; prepare for a serious fight.
- While you have Demon Tier, each respawn consumes one Soul Shard. If you respawn without one, your demon tier is forfeited. A summoned demon that kills you also ends your demon contract permanently.
- Tier 4 demon progression requires sacrificing two permanent hearts; reaching Tier 5 requires sacrificing three more. These are permanent reductions to maximum health, so consider the cost before offering.
Progression And Strategy
Demon contracts require at least one unlocked contract from the previous tier. Early trials include defeating hostile mobs, fighting blazes, or surviving a night at low health. Later examples include defeating a Wither, Warden, Ender Dragon, or completing a raid-related trial. Read /celestial contracts for each named contract’s exact offerings and current requirements.
- Tier 4: Choose Belzareth, Xytherion, or Vaelkor. These contracts require the two-heart sacrifice.
- Tier 5: Select Azrakael and make the offering, including the additional three-heart sacrifice. Defeat the Ender Dragon and Wither; their defeat begins Azrakael’s King’s Trial. Defeat Azrakael to complete the contract.
Angel contracts begin with three verified good deeds for Tier 1. Later tiers require a blessing from the previous tier; Tier 2 also requires a verified Judgment Trial. Tier 5 requires 30 verified good deeds and three custom boss kills, along with its offering materials.
Many angel goals are verified milestones, such as rescues, protection, or trials. Operators can see accepted milestone names with /celestial objectives and record them with /celestial verify <player> <objective> [amount]; this command requires operator-level permission.
