Celestial Cloud Guide
Quickstart
- Spawn the Guide — Find the Celestial Cloud Guide Spawn Egg in the Spawn Eggs creative tab and use it, or wait for the Guide to appear naturally above mountainous terrain.
- Tame it — Hold a Golden Apple and right-click the Guide. The apple is consumed and it replies "Yes." — it is now yours.
- Open the pop-up menu — Right-click your tamed Guide without sneaking. A floating panel opens with Trade held item, Gift apple, Chat, and Close buttons.
- Make a trade — Hold a common item (e.g. Cobblestone, Sticks, Wheat) in your main hand, then press Trade held item. One item is consumed and a powerfully enchanted reward appears in your inventory.
- Fly — Sneak + right-click the tamed Guide with an empty hand to mount. Steer with W/A/S/D; look up while moving forward to ascend, look down to descend. Press Shift to dismount.
Overview
The Celestial Cloud Guide is a large, ghast-like celestial creature that drifts peacefully above mountainous terrain, emitting a calming 444 Hz hum. It is entirely passive — no fireballs, no aggression. Tame it with a Golden Apple and it becomes a loyal flying mount, a pop-up-menu trader that exchanges mundane materials for rare enchanted gear, and a cryptic conversationalist that replies only in single words.
What It Adds
| Content | Notes |
|---|
| Celestial Cloud Guide | Large horned cloud mob, passive, tameable, rideable |
| Spawn Egg | Found in the Spawn Eggs creative tab |
How To Use
Taming
Approach an untamed Guide — it is completely harmless and replies only "..." until tamed. Right-click while holding a Golden Apple. The apple is consumed, the Guide becomes bound to you, and it replies "Yes."
The Pop-Up Menu
Right-click your tamed Guide without sneaking to open the Cloud Guide pop-up panel. The panel stays open while the game continues running (it does not pause). It contains:
- Trade held item — Consumes one item from your main hand (or off-hand if main hand is empty) and delivers an enchanted reward. There is a ~3-second cooldown between trades; if on cooldown the Guide replies "Soon." If the item is not accepted it replies "No." If your hands are empty it replies "Offer."
- Gift apple — Searches your main hand, off-hand, then inventory for an Apple or Golden Apple and feeds it to the Guide, healing it. A regular Apple heals 4 HP (2 hearts); a Golden Apple heals 12 HP (6 hearts).
- Chat — Type a question (up to 80 characters) in the text field and press Chat. The Guide's one-word reply appears at the bottom of the panel.
- Close — Dismisses the pop-up.
Note: The pop-up is triggered by a server-to-client network message on right-click. If the menu does not appear, ensure you are right-clicking the Guide directly without sneaking, and that you are its owner.
Riding & Flying
| Action | How |
|---|
| Mount | Sneak + right-click with an empty hand |
| Steer | W/A/S/D follows your look direction |
| Ascend | Look upward while pressing W |
| Descend | Look downward while pressing W |
| Dismount | Press Shift |
On mounting the Guide replies "Indeed."

Progression And Strategy
- Early power spike: Any Golden Apple you can craft or find unlocks the Guide. From there a handful of Cobblestone or Sticks immediately yields enchanted diamond weapons and armour.
- Full armour set fast: Trade Cobblestone → Sword, Wheat → Chestplate, Sand → Boots, Apple → Helmet — all from resources gathered in the first day.
- Elytra shortcut: Trade a single Leather or Feather for an Elytra, long before you would reach the End.
- Trident shortcut: Trade a Bone or Rotten Flesh — both common early drops — for a Trident.
- Healing your Guide: Keep Apples on hand to restore HP after risky flights via the Gift apple button. Golden Apples heal three times as much.
- Sky transport: The Guide is a fully controllable flying mount available as soon as it is tamed — ideal for exploration, raiding structures, or escaping danger before you have any other flight option.
- Chat freely: The Guide's one-word answers are intentionally cryptic. Chatting costs nothing; the reply appears live inside the pop-up panel without filling the public chat log.
