Breach Mine

Quickstart

• In Creative mode, find the Breach Mine Spawn Egg and use it to spawn a mine. Or look for one on the End’s outer islands.
• Keep your distance and watch what it does when it spots you. If it gets close and begins its fuse, move well away or put a block between you and it to break line of sight.
• To spawn one with commands, use /summon com_breach_mine_jegn3bzl:mycustom.

Overview

Breach Mines are hovering, explosive mobs found on the surface of several End biomes. They seek out nearby players and detonate after getting close. Their blast can break blocks, so treat a mine as a threat to both you and your surroundings.

What It Adds

• The Breach Mine, with 20 health, hovering movement, and a large collision area.
• A Breach Mine Spawn Egg.
• Destructive, fire-free explosions when a mine detonates.

How To Use

Breach Mines are hostile; there is no interaction needed to trigger them. A mine searches for a visible player within 24 blocks and moves toward them. When it gets very close, it begins its attack.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Fuse: The mine’s attack has a warning animation. If it can still see its target and the target stays within about 4 blocks, it detonates roughly 2 seconds after the fuse begins.
• Fuse cancellation: Getting more than about 4 blocks away or blocking the mine’s line of sight cancels the attack. It can resume pursuing you afterward.
• Blast: Detonation creates a burst of explosions that can break blocks but do not cause fire. The mine is removed when it explodes.

Crafting And Obtaining

There is no crafting recipe for the mine or its spawn egg. Mines spawn individually on the surface in the End Highlands, End Midlands, End Barrens, and Small End Islands. You can also use the spawn egg in Creative mode or summon one with commands.

A player kill can drop up to 2 gunpowder. There is also a 10% base chance for an Ender Pearl; Looting can improve the drops.

Progression And Strategy

Watch for a mine as you explore the End, and avoid letting it reach you. If its fuse starts, create distance or break line of sight quickly. Choose where to fight carefully: the blast can damage nearby terrain.
