Quickstart
- Gather at the location where you want the arena to appear. All players must be in the same dimension.
- Each fighter uses:
/box join/box kit warrior,/box kit archer, or/box kit tank
- Once at least two players are queued, one queued player runs
/box start. - The mod creates a temporary glass arena around the player who starts the match and equips every participant automatically.
- Fight until only one player remains. Use normal Minecraft combat controls, including weapons, shields, bows, food, and golden apples.
Use /box help in-game to display the main commands.
Overview
Box Battle Arena is a temporary last-player-standing PvP match. Players queue, select combat kits, and are teleported into a glass arena. A match lasts up to five minutes, or ends earlier when only one fighter remains.
A boss bar shows the remaining time and the number of fighters still alive.
What It Adds
- A shared queue for Box Battle matches
- Three preset combat kits
- A temporary glass battle arena
- Automatic player teleportation and equipment
- Elimination and spectator handling
- Match statistics
- Rewards for the winner
- Automatic restoration of the arena and player state after the match
How To Use
Queue for a match
Use:
/box join
You are added to the queue with the Warrior kit selected by default. You cannot join while another match is active.
To leave before the match starts, use:
/box leave
Choose a kit
Choose a kit after joining and before the match starts:
/box kit warrior
/box kit archer
/box kit tank
You can change your selection as often as needed while waiting.
Start the match
At least two players must be in the queue. A queued player starts the match with:
/box start
The starting player's current block position becomes the center of the arena. Every queued player must be in the same dimension as the player who starts the match.
Once the match begins:
- Players are placed in Survival mode.
- Inventories and armor are temporarily replaced by the selected kits.
- Players are positioned around the arena.
- The glass arena is created automatically.
- The five-minute timer begins.
Leave or stop a match
You cannot leave an active match with /box leave. Dying or disconnecting eliminates you.
An operator with the required permission can stop an active match using:
/box stop
Stopping a match does not declare a winner.

Use:
/box stats
This displays your Box Battle wins, eliminations, and completed matches.
Kits
| Kit | Equipment |
|---|---|
| Warrior | Iron sword, shield, 2 golden apples, full iron armor |
| Archer | Stone sword, bow, 48 arrows, 8 cooked beef, full leather armor |
| Tank | Iron sword, shield, 1 golden apple, iron helmet, diamond chestplate, iron leggings, iron boots |
Kit items are supplied automatically when the match starts. The mod clears your inventory and armor for the duration of the match.
Abilities And Mechanics
The glass arena
The arena is built around the starting player's position:
- 17 blocks wide
- 17 blocks long
- 10 blocks tall inside the boundary
- Glass floor, walls, and roof
The arena replaces the blocks along its temporary boundary, then restores those original blocks when the match ends.
Players are kept inside the box. If you move outside the fighting area or above or below its limits, you are teleported back toward the center.
Combat and eliminations
Fight using your kit and standard Minecraft combat mechanics. When a player dies:
- They are eliminated from the match.
- They are placed in Spectator mode.
- They can watch the remaining fighters until the round ends.
A disconnected fighter is also eliminated.
The match ends as soon as one fighter remains. If the five-minute limit expires while multiple fighters are still alive, the round ends without a winner.
Player restoration
When the match ends, each surviving or eliminated participant is returned to:
- Their previous game mode
- Their previous location
- Their previous inventory and armor
- Full health with cleared status effects
Rewards
The winner receives:
- 8 emeralds
- 2 golden apples
The winner is announced to the server when the match ends.
Progression And Strategy
- Warrior is a balanced choice for close-range combat. Use the shield to block incoming attacks and golden apples to survive extended fights.
- Archer is strongest when maintaining distance. Use the glass walls and arena height to create space, then switch to the stone sword when opponents close in.
- Tank is built for durability. The diamond chestplate offers strong protection, while the shield and golden apple help in direct engagements.
- Choose a clear arena location before queuing, since the starting player's position determines where the temporary box appears.
- Keep track of the boss bar. A fighter who avoids unnecessary damage can use the time limit to outlast opponents, but no winner is declared if the timer expires with multiple players alive.
