Mod Wiki

Boundless Enchantments

Quickstart

  1. On your first join, you receive a random enchanted Boundless Enchantment Scroll. If your inventory is full, it drops nearby.
  2. Hold the scroll in one hand and the item you want to enchant in the other. Use the scroll to apply its enchantment; the scroll is consumed in Survival.
  3. Try the enchanted item, then defeat living entities for more random enchanted scrolls.
  4. If you have a Riptide trident, use it as usual—even on dry land.

Overview

Boundless Enchantments lets you put enchantments on any non-empty item, combine enchantments that normally conflict, and use Riptide without needing water or rain. Enchanted scrolls provide a straightforward way to apply individual enchantments.

What It Adds

FeatureWhat it does
Boundless Enchantment ScrollApplies the enchantment stored on it to an item held in your other hand.
Kill rewardsPlayer kills of living entities grant a random enchanted scroll.
Universal enchantingItems can accept enchantments regardless of their usual restrictions, and enchantments can be combined freely.
Dry-land RiptideRiptide tridents can propel you without water or rain.
Gear upgradesThe /upgrade command converts supported material-tier gear to a higher tier while keeping its enchantments.

How To Use

Enchantment Scrolls

Hold the scroll and target item in opposite hands, then use the scroll. It applies its stored enchantment to the other item. If that item already has the enchantment, its level becomes whichever is higher: the item’s current level or the scroll’s level.

A scroll with no stored enchantment is blank and cannot enchant anything. Scrolls earned from kills contain one random enchantment.

Dry-Land Riptide

Enchant a trident with Riptide, then use it as usual. The trident can launch you on dry land as well as in water or rain.

Upgrade Material-Tier Gear

Hold supported gear in your main hand and run /upgrade to select the highest matching material tier you can afford. Or specify a target with /upgrade <material>. The command needs one upgrade material per item in the held stack.

Target materialAccepted command nameCost per item
WoodenwoodStick
LeatherleatherLeather
StonestoneCobblestone
ChainmailchainmailIron ingot
CoppercopperCopper ingot
IronironIron ingot
Goldengold or goldenGold ingot
DiamonddiamondDiamond
NetheritenetheriteNetherite ingot

The target must be a higher tier than the held item and have a matching version of that gear. Its enchantments are preserved.

Crafting And Obtaining

You receive one random enchanted scroll on your first join. Each time you kill a living entity, you earn another scroll with a random enchantment at a random level up to that enchantment’s maximum. If your inventory is full, the reward drops nearby.

The scroll item is also available in the Tools & Utilities creative tab. A blank scroll has no enchantment to apply.

Abilities And Mechanics

  • Any non-empty item can be enchanted, including items that would not normally accept enchantments.
  • Enchantments that normally exclude one another can be used together.
  • Scrolls apply their enchantment directly; no anvil is needed to use one.
  • Riptide’s dry-land use applies to tridents with Riptide.

Progression And Strategy

Use your first scroll to experiment with an unusual item or enchantment combination. Keep hunting for more scrolls to build up different enchantments, and try combining them on gear. When you upgrade material-tier gear, carry enough of the required material for every item in the stack.
