Quickstart

1. Craft the Boneburst Blade using the recipe below and add it to your hotbar.
2. Left-click to swing it as a hard-hitting melee sword (13 attack damage).
3. Right-click to launch an explosive bone projectile — stand back, because it detonates with the force of a TNT minecart on impact.
4. Watch the 1-second cooldown bar before firing again, and keep an eye on durability.

Overview

The Boneburst Blade is a bone-themed hybrid weapon: a heavy melee sword that can also lob explosive bone projectiles at range. Its distinctive reversed blade texture sets it apart visually. Whether you're carving through mobs up close or blasting open terrain from a distance, the blade rewards players who manage both its cooldown and durability wisely.

Abilities And Mechanics

Melee — Left-Click

• 13 attack damage, matching and exceeding diamond sword tier.
• Diamond-tier durability, so it can take heavy use.
• Counts as a sword for all sword-related enchantments and game mechanics (e.g., looting, sweeping edge).

Ranged — Right-Click

• Fires a bone projectile that travels in a slight arc (low gravity).
• On contact with any block or entity the projectile explodes at power 4.0 — equivalent to a TNT minecart blast. This destroys terrain and deals heavy area damage to nearby entities.
• A custom blast sound plays the moment you fire.
• Each shot consumes 1 durability from the blade.
• A 1-second (20-tick) cooldown is applied after each shot; you cannot fire again until it expires.

Progression And Strategy

• Early game: Craft it as soon as you have bones, a stick, and TNT. It is immediately competitive with diamond weapons.
• Cooldown management: The 1-second cooldown only affects the ranged shot — you can still melee freely in between. Use the ranged shot to open a fight, then follow up with melee swings.
• Durability: Each ranged shot costs durability on top of normal melee wear. Bring an Anvil and Mending or Unbreaking enchantments to extend its life.
• Terrain destruction: The explosion fully interacts with the world (TNT interaction mode). Be careful firing at close range or into enclosed spaces — the blast will destroy blocks around the impact point, including blocks you want to keep.
• Combat range: The projectile has a slight downward arc, so aim slightly above your target at longer distances.
