Bloodmoon Zombie Evolution transforms vanilla survival into a relentless zombie apocalypse. Starting on Day 5, waves of Bloodrot Zombies assault you every night, growing faster and deadlier as the days accumulate. Every seventh night a Blood Moon strikes — the sky locks to night, thunder rolls, and the horde doubles in size and ferocity. The apocalypse advances through distinct named tiers, each bringing stronger zombie variants, until Day 99 when Chernobyl military mutants hunt you down.
A persistent action-bar HUD keeps you informed at all times, showing the current day, horde size nearby, and the seconds until the next wave.
A custom undead mob that spawns in hordes each night. It shares zombie behaviors — burns in daylight, converts to a Drowned when submerged, can break doors, can pick up weapons, and may rarely spawn as a baby or as a jockey pair. Each Bloodrot Zombie is assigned a permanent variant number (e.g. Bloodrot Zombie #482931) that determines its power level — a small number of very high variants are considered rare and receive an extra buff tier, while an even rarer subset at Day 50+ qualify as bosses with a massive health boost.
Vanilla zombies are also buffed by the same system when they spawn.
Available in the Creative inventory. Spawns a Bloodrot Zombie immediately, useful for testing defenses or farming loot outside of normal nighttime waves.

Every Bloodrot Zombie (and buffed vanilla zombie) receives a random variant number from 1 to 999,999. This number is permanent. It influences:
Waves spawn every ~55 seconds normally, or every ~30 seconds during a Blood Moon. Each wave spawns a ring of zombies 18–36 blocks from the player. Wave size scales with the day:
Each Bloodrot Zombie in the overworld has a small chance each second to destroy a nearby block if it is one of the following materials: oak planks, spruce planks, birch planks, cobblestone, dirt, glass, or oak door. The check radius is roughly 2–3 blocks around the zombie. Build with stronger materials (stone bricks, deepslate, obsidian, etc.) to resist this.
The apocalypse advances through named tiers as days pass. Each tier increases the displayed zombie name and amplifies all scaling effects:
