Description:
.mcaddon and apply both the behavior and resource packs to your world (Experimental gameplay may be required for scripting)./locate biome com_bloodmoon_zombie_wastes_kworzile:bloodmoon_wastesBloodmoon Horde Survival transforms your Minecraft world into a zombie apocalypse that escalates every night. A script-driven horde controller tracks how many nights you have survived and sends increasingly dangerous waves of custom zombies at you. Every seventh night, the sky turns blood-red, thunder rolls in, and nighttime is locked — a Blood Moon event that pushes the challenge to its limit.
A custom overworld biome, the Bloodmoon Wastes, provides a permanent eerie backdrop: twisted water, grass, and foliage colors, heavy fog, and unique surface terrain.
| Addition | Description |
|---|---|
| Bloodrot Zombie | Custom enemy with 32 HP, 5 base damage, unique variant stats, and special on-hit effects. |
| Bloodrot Zombie Spawn Egg | Creative item to manually spawn Bloodrot Zombies for testing or farming. |
| Bloodmoon Wastes | Custom overworld biome replacing plains. Eerie colors, fog, and altered surface materials. Bloodrot Zombies spawn here naturally. |
| Horde HUD | Persistent action-bar display showing night number, nearby horde count, and next-wave countdown. |
| Blood Moon Event | Special night triggered every 7th night with amplified difficulty. |
Every second, your action bar updates with three pieces of information:
Bloodmoon Night 3 | Horde 7/24 | Next wave 18s
During a Blood Moon, BLOOD MOON appears in red next to the night number.
Waves spawn around you (18–34 blocks away) automatically while it is night. The wave size starts at 3–4 zombies and grows by roughly 1 extra zombie for every 2 nights survived. Up to 24 Bloodrot Zombies can be active near you at once.
Wave cooldowns shorten as nights progress — early nights give you about 32 seconds between waves, but that window shrinks by roughly 2 seconds per night.
Be cautious with basic building materials as defenses. Bloodrot Zombies actively break through common blocks including wooden doors, planks, logs, stone, cobblestone, dirt, sand, and sandstone. Any zombie adjacent to these blocks has a 20% chance each second to destroy a small area of them. Stone walls, deeper defenses, or non-breakable blocks are more reliable.
Every Bloodrot Zombie is assigned a persistent variant number (1–999,999) displayed in its name tag (e.g., Bloodrot Zombie #482301). This number determines its base stats:
| Variant Range | Speed Level | Strength Level |
|---|---|---|
| 1 – 249,999 | 0 | 0–4 (based on variant) |
| 250,000 – 499,999 | 1 | 0–4 |
| 500,000 – 749,999 | 2 | 0–4 |
| 750,000 – 999,999 | 3 | 0–4 |
These are base levels. Additional bonuses are added at night and during Blood Moons (see below).
While it is night, all Bloodrot Zombies receive:
During a Blood Moon, every Bloodrot Zombie also gains:
When a Bloodrot Zombie strikes you or another entity:
The Bloodmoon Wastes is a custom overworld biome that replaces some plains areas. It features:
Bloodrot Zombies spawn naturally here in groups of 2–4 during low-light conditions (light level 0–7), on the surface and underground, making it dangerous to explore at any time of day.
To teleport to the nearest Bloodmoon Wastes, use:
/locate biome com_bloodmoon_zombie_wastes_kworzile:bloodmoon_wastes
Bloodrot Zombies always drop:
On kill by a player or tamed pet, there is also a ~2.5% chance (improved by Looting) of dropping one of:
Adult Bloodrot Zombies award 5 XP on death (plus bonus XP for any equipped gear). Baby variants award 12 XP.
| Night Range | What to Expect | Recommended Strategy |
|---|---|---|
| 1–3 | Small waves, slow zombies, long cooldowns | Build a basic shelter; learn wave timing from the HUD |
| 4–6 | Waves grow, higher-variant zombies appear | Reinforce with non-breakable blocks; prepare iron gear |
| 7 (Blood Moon) | Locked night, massive fast waves, Wither + Slowness on hits | Have potions ready; kite in open space; avoid single-layer wood walls |
| 14+ | Back-to-back Blood Moons, very short wave timers | Maintain a stock of food and healing; use ranged attacks to thin hordes before they close in |
