.mcaddon and create a new world — the mod activates automatically./locate biome blood_moon_los_angeles_bjawf7bh:blood_moon_la to find the nearest Blood Moon LA biome and head there.Blood Moon Los Angeles drops you into a scripted zombie apocalypse set in a red-tinted, eerie wasteland biome. The infection escalates each day through hundreds of named zombie variants. Every fifth day triggers a Purge wave of intensified spawns, and every tenth day is a full Blood Moon — the most dangerous escalation, bringing heavier hordes and more powerful enemies. Named defender NPCs periodically arrive to help you hold the line.
A custom overworld biome that replaces portions of the map. Zombie types exclusive to this mod spawn only within it, on the surface and underground, from Easy through Hard difficulty. Use /locate biome blood_moon_los_angeles_bjawf7bh:blood_moon_la to find it.
All four zombie types spawn in groups of 2–4 inside the biome. They burn in daylight, can break doors, climb, and will convert to Drowned if submerged long enough.

Each zombie that spawns is assigned a deterministic name — Evolved LA Zombie 1–500 T[tier] — based on its location and the current day. The tier number climbs as days pass, reflecting growing infection strength.

Named Military NPC Defender or Militia NPC Defender Iron Golems periodically spawn near players (up to 2 within 48 blocks) to assist in fighting zombies.
Hold the Survivor Rifle or Scrap Bow and press Use to fire. The weapon performs an instant raycast in the direction you are looking, hitting the nearest zombie within range (42 blocks for the rifle, 30 for the bow). A critical particle effect and sound confirm a hit. No arrows or ammo are consumed.
Place the Tactical Vest in your chestplate armour slot to gain its protection. It functions like standard chest armour.
Your action bar always displays:
A scoreboard objective (bmla_day) also tracks the day numerically.
You receive the Survivor Rifle, Scrap Bow, and Tactical Vest automatically on your first spawn. If you need to craft replacements:

The Tactical Vest is not craftable; obtain it from your starter kit or use commands (/give @s blood_moon_los_angeles_bjawf7bh:tactical_vest).
Every zombie receives a variant ID (1–500) and a tier (1–10) calculated from its spawn position and the current day. Purge-day zombies are tagged internally to indicate escalated threat; Blood Moon zombies are similarly marked. These tags drive the naming system and are visible on the zombie's nametag.
