    Description:

Adds the Blazeforge Peaks, a new volcanic mountain-top biome that generates on warm, dry inland mountain peaks in the Overworld with rivers of lava, magma blocks, netherrack, blackstone, and a crater-style lava lake rimmed with magma. Blazes and piglins now naturally spawn on the biome’s exposed blackstone surfaces (with magma remaining below and in crater features), making it a dangerous, high-reward area to explore, build on, or raid for loot. It’s integrated into normal world generation—just head into warm mountain ranges to find towering, fiery peaks to conquer.

    Mod Wiki

    Blazeforge Peaks

    Quickstart

    1. Create or load a world with the mod installed — no extra setup is needed.
    2. Travel to a warm, dry inland mountain range in the Overworld. Look for towering peaks with dark, scorched surfaces and glowing lava.
    3. When you spot blackstone-covered summits with lava rivers and a crater lake, you've found a Blazeforge Peaks biome.
    4. Come prepared: Blazes and Piglins spawn here naturally, so bring fire resistance potions, strong armor, and plenty of food before you ascend.

    Overview

Blazeforge Peaks is a volcanic mountain-top biome that generates naturally in the Overworld on warm, dry inland mountain ridges. No commands or special items are required to find it — just explore the right mountain ranges and you'll encounter these fiery summits rising above the landscape.

The biome is dangerous but rewarding. Its hostile mobs, rare blocks, and dramatic terrain make it a high-risk, high-reward destination for adventurers willing to brave the heat.

    What It Adds

    The Blazeforge Peaks Biome

A volcanic, Nether-flavored mountain summit that generates seamlessly in normal Overworld terrain. Key features include:

    FeatureDetails
Surface layerBlackstone covers all exposed ground
Subsurface layerNetherrack lies beneath the blackstone
Deep layerMagma blocks fill the layers below netherrack
Lava riversStreams of lava flow across the terrain
Crater lakeA central lava pool roughly 10–11 blocks in diameter, rimmed with magma blocks and set into the peak
Crater rimMagma block ring surrounds the lava pool; outer edges blend netherrack and blackstone

    Spawning Mobs

Both mobs spawn on exposed blackstone surfaces throughout the biome:

    MobSpawn WeightGroup Size
    Blaze1201–3
    Piglin1002–4

Blazes are especially common — treat every Blazeforge Peak as blaze-rod farming territory as well as a combat challenge.

    How To Use

    Finding the Biome

    • Head into warm climate zones — biomes like deserts, savannas, and badlands are good landmarks nearby.
    • Look inland, away from coastlines and rivers.
    • Scan mountain ridges for the telltale dark blackstone surface, glowing lava flows, and smoke particles rising from the crater.
    • The biome only generates at significant elevation (roughly y=72 or higher).

    Exploring Safely

    • Fire Resistance is strongly recommended. The ground contains magma blocks that deal fire damage when walked on, and lava pools are everywhere.
    • Wear boots with the Frost Walker enchantment to walk over magma safely, or bring Fire Resistance potions.
    • Piglins will be hostile unless you wear at least one piece of gold armor.
    • Blazes shoot fireballs and are resistant to fire damage — bring a bow or melee weapon and close the gap quickly.

    The Crater Lake

Each Blazeforge Peak generates a crater-style lava lake near its summit:

    • The inner core (radius ~5 blocks) fills with lava down several layers.
    • A magma rim (radius ~7.5 blocks) surrounds the core.
    • The outer transition blends netherrack and blackstone.

The crater makes an excellent visual landmark and a natural danger zone at the heart of each peak.

    Abilities And Mechanics

    Surface Composition

Walking on the Blazeforge Peaks biome means navigating three layered materials:

    • Blackstone — the top surface, safe to walk on, excellent as a building material.
    • Netherrack — just below; burns indefinitely if ignited.
    • Magma blocks — the deep layer and crater rim; damages players who stand on them without fire resistance or Frost Walker boots.

    Mob Behavior

    • Blazes behave identically to their Nether counterparts: they fly, shoot fireballs, and drop blaze rods on death.
    • Piglins behave as they do in the Nether: they barter with gold ingots and turn hostile if you open chests or attack them (unless wearing gold armor). They do not zombify in the Overworld.

    Progression And Strategy

    Early Exploration

Approach with at least iron armor and a shield. A stack of Fire Resistance potions makes the entire biome significantly safer. Scout from range before descending into the crater area.

    Mid-Game Farming

Blazeforge Peaks is the only place in the Overworld where Blazes naturally spawn, making it an excellent source of blaze rods — critical for brewing stands and Eyes of Ender. Set up a perimeter camp below the peak and farm blazes repeatedly as they respawn.

    Bartering

Piglins spawn in groups of 2–4 and will barter gold ingots for random loot just as they do in the Nether. Bring a surplus of gold to trade before or after clearing out the blazes.

    Building

The biome's blocks — blackstone, netherrack, and magma — are all harvestable with the right tools:

    • Blackstone requires a pickaxe and is a stylish dark building material with full stair/slab/wall variants in vanilla.
    • Netherrack is easy to mine and useful for eternal fire features.
    • Magma blocks can be used for decorative lighting or smelting fuel.

Claiming a Blazeforge Peak as a base gives you a dramatic, defensible high-ground location with built-in mob farm potential.
