Blaze Lily
Quickstart
- Get seeds — Kill a Strider (15% chance) or a Ghast (10% chance) in the Nether to collect a Blaze Lily Seed (
com_blaze_lily_lproptxc:blaze_lily_seed). You can also craft a Blaze Lily block directly at a crafting table (see recipe below), which can serve as a source of seeds when broken.
- Plant the seed — Place it on any valid surface and wait. The crop grows through three visual stages on random ticks.
- Harvest when mature — Break the crop at Stage 3 (the full animated lava-and-fire lily). You'll receive one Blaze Lily food item (
com_blaze_lily_lproptxc:blaze_lily) and 1–2 seeds back. Breaking earlier stages only returns a single seed.
- Eat it — Hold the Blaze Lily and use it like any food. It restores 3 hunger bars (6 hunger points) and immediately chains a powerful sequence of effects.
Overview
Blaze Lily is a fiery Nether-themed crop for Minecraft Bedrock Edition 1.21.93. It adds a three-stage crop, a consumable food item with a dramatic fire-to-buff effect chain, and a strider-calming interaction. Seeds are rare mob drops, making early plants a meaningful reward from Nether exploration.

How To Use
Growing
Plant a Blaze Lily Seed and let it grow through three stages:
- Stage 1 — A small red dot with tiny dark spikes emerging from the ground.
- Stage 2 — A dark lily pad with a small animated flame as the bud.
- Stage 3 (Mature) — A full lily with basalt and obsidian detail, and an animated lava center surrounded by animated fire petals.
Growth advances on random ticks; each tick has a 25% chance to progress the crop by one stage.
Break a mature (Stage 3) crop to receive:
- 1× Blaze Lily food item
- 1 or 2× Blaze Lily Seeds (50/50 chance)
Breaking an immature crop returns only 1× seed with no food.
Eating
Consuming a Blaze Lily triggers this sequence:
- Immediately: Restores 3 hunger bars (6 hunger points) and sets the player on fire for 10 seconds.
- After the 10 seconds of fire burn off, the following effects are applied:
- Regeneration II — 10 seconds
- Fire Resistance I — 2 minutes
- Strength I — 15 seconds
- Speed I — 30 seconds
⚠️ The fire at the start deals real damage unless you already have Fire Resistance. Plan accordingly — or consider it a tradeoff for the strong buff chain that follows.
Feeding to Striders
Hold a Blaze Lily in your main hand and hit a Strider with it. The Lily is consumed and the strider receives:
- Slowness I briefly
- Fire Resistance for 30 seconds
This calms a strider that is suffering on dry land, helping it recover while out of lava.
Crafting And Obtaining
Crafting
A Blaze Lily block can be crafted at a crafting table using blaze powder and nether materials:
Breaking the resulting block while immature drops a seed; placing and waiting until full maturity before harvesting yields the food item.
Mob Drops (Seeds)
Blaze Lily Seeds can drop from the following mobs when killed:
| Mob | Drop Chance |
|---|
| Strider | ~15% |
| Ghast | ~10% |
Abilities And Mechanics
- Fire Immunity Combo: The initial 10-second fire is painful, but eating the lily while already having Fire Resistance lets you skip the damage and still receive the full buff chain afterward.
- Seed Return: Harvesting a mature crop always gives at least one seed back, so a single plant can sustain itself indefinitely.
- Strider Calming: The Blaze Lily is consumed when used on a strider — one item per use. Stock up before long overworld trips with your strider.
- Growth RNG: Each random tick has a 25% chance to advance the crop stage, so growth time varies naturally.
Progression And Strategy
- Early Nether: Focus on killing Striders and Ghasts to collect your first seeds. Striders are the safer farm target.
- First Harvest: Protect your first plant. Breaking it immature loses the food reward entirely.
- Combat Use: Eat a Blaze Lily just before a tough fight to bait out the fire damage on your own terms, then enjoy Fire Resistance + Strength + Speed + Regeneration simultaneously.
- Seed Farm: Once you have multiple mature plants, you can sustain a reliable seed surplus for strider feeding on long overworld excursions.
