Quickstart
- Craft a wand and its spell scroll. For an Ember starter, use the recipes for an [Ember Wand]() and [Ember Spell Scroll]().
- Put the wand in your main hand and the scroll in your off hand.
- Use the wand to cast. Crouch and use it to switch to another scroll you carry in your inventory.
- Craft and place an Arcane Upgrade Station when you’re ready to improve a wand with amethyst shards.
On your first spawn, you receive the Arcane Field Guide, which opens with the basic controls and class effects.
Overview
Make class-themed wands and spell scrolls, cast projectile spells, and raise each wand’s tier from 1 to 5. Any class wand can cast any of the five class scrolls: the scroll determines the spell, while the held wand’s tier affects its strength.
What It Adds
- Five wands: Ember, Frost, Storm, Verdant, and Arcane.
- Five matching spell scrolls.
- The Arcane Upgrade Station, which upgrades a wand for amethyst shards.
- The Arcane Field Guide, which explains casting, spell classes, and upgrades.
How To Use
- Cast: Hold a class wand in your main hand and a spell scroll in your off hand, then use the wand.
- Switch scrolls: Crouch and use the wand. The next scroll you carry is moved to your off hand; your previous off-hand scroll is returned to your inventory.
- Upgrade: Hold the wand you want to improve in your main hand and interact with a placed Arcane Upgrade Station. Confirm the upgrade in the station’s menu.

Craft wands and scrolls at a crafting table. Each scroll recipe gives 16 scrolls.

Abilities And Mechanics
The scroll you cast determines the spell effect:
| Scroll | Effect |
|---|---|
| Ember | Sets the target on fire. |
| Frost | Slows the target. |
| Storm | Knocks the target away from you. |
| Verdant | Poisons the target and grants you regeneration. |
| Arcane | Deals extra damage to the target. |
Wand tiers strengthen their level-scaled effects. Each wand starts at tier 1 and can reach tier 5.
Progression And Strategy
The station charges amethyst shards from your inventory for each upgrade:

Upgrade the wand you plan to use: its tier is stored on that wand. Keep several kinds of scroll in your inventory to switch spell effects without changing wands.
