Quickstart

1. Find a pillager outpost and loot its chest — it has a chance to contain a War Mount Spawn Egg.
2. Use the spawn egg on the ground to summon your War Mount.
3. Right-click / interact with the War Mount to mount it.
4. Ride it into battle — it charges enemies and deals heavy damage on impact.

There is no recipe for the spawn egg. Pillager outpost chests are the only source.

Overview

The War Mount is a fearsome armored battle steed built for mounted combat. Based on the hulking ravager frame, it has been outfitted with dark iron barding, gold trim, red war-paint, a leather harness, and ember-like glowing eyes — giving it a distinctly militaristic appearance. Its spawn egg reflects this with a deep red-brown and gold color scheme.

Rather than being a simple mount, the War Mount is a combat partner: it charges at enemies with devastating momentum while remaining responsive enough for the player to steer effectively during fights.

How To Use

Mounting

Walk up to a War Mount and interact (right-click on Java-style controls, or use the interact button on touch/controller) to mount it. You'll take control of the creature and can steer it normally.

Combat

While riding, the War Mount will charge into enemies, dealing heavy damage through its momentum. Steering is tuned to be responsive so you can maneuver in tight combat situations. Its top speed is deliberately moderate to keep you in control during fights rather than overshooting targets.

Dismounting

Sneak (crouch) to dismount the War Mount, just like any rideable mob.

Crafting And Obtaining

The War Mount Spawn Egg cannot be crafted. It is found exclusively in pillager outpost chests as loot. Raid outposts and check their chests to obtain one.

Once you use the egg to spawn a War Mount, the egg is consumed.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Charge attack — The War Mount rushes enemies with powerful momentum, dealing significant melee damage.
• Responsive steering — Turning is quicker than a standard ravager, making the mount practical for use in active combat.
• Controlled speed — Top speed is slightly reduced compared to an unridden ravager, keeping the mount easier to control.
• Armored appearance — Dark iron barding with gold trim; purely visual but reinforces the heavy-combat theme.
• On death — The War Mount drops a saddle when killed.

Progression And Strategy

• Early priority: Seek out pillager outposts as soon as you can survive the surrounding pillagers. The spawn egg is a rare chest drop, so you may need to loot multiple outposts.
• Pre-combat prep: Have a saddle ready — though the War Mount drops one, having a backup means you can remount quickly if things go wrong.
• Raid support: The War Mount naturally integrates with raid encounters. Spawning one near a village raid can give you a powerful advantage against waves of illagers.
• Targeting: The War Mount is hostile toward common monsters (zombies, skeletons, spiders, creepers, endermen) but won't attack illagers, making it safe to use near your own raiding party.
• Biome awareness: War Mounts can spawn naturally in plains, savanna, and taiga biomes during the day on Easy difficulty or higher, so keep an eye out for wild ones if you haven't found a spawn egg yet.
