Description:
create a minecraft item that has the following description: create a "Fishing Competition" block, that every hour begins a map wide fishing competition that lasts 10 minutes. within that time players using a fishing rod are given the lure effect, and every fish caught gets a random measurement, along with a random fish name, these are announced in the chat and at at the end of the competition the player with the longest fish is awarded a diamond and results for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place are announced in chat with the measurement Edit v2: fix to remove the lure effect and gives luck of the sea effect instead. also fix so that a player can only catch one fish at a time and doesnt keep spamming the chat when there holding the fishing rod. also give a 5 minutes remaining message, and a 1 minute remaining message, then give a 5 second countdown before the fishing competition finishes. Edit v3: Fix so that only fish caught with a fishing rod count towards the competition and not fish that are dropped on the ground. Also only keep the top longest 3 in memory, and replace as longer fish are recorded. Edit v4: change the crafting recipe so it uses a command block instead of a tripwire hook, also add in more exotic and fantasy style fish names Edit v9: fix so that only operators of the world can place and destroy the block, also update the texture to a command block texture with a fishing rod in the middle of each side. Edit v10: rename the block to "Fishing Competition", update the texture to a higher resolution, and rename the mod to "Bedrock Server Fishing Competition Block", and remove the luck of the sea effect. Edit v11: create a bigger pool of fish that can be caught, including mythical creatures, ocean creatures, biome variants. Edit v12: edit this so that it can be placed and destroyed in creative mode, remove the operator and admin checks. also increase chances of longer fish if player is using a fishing rod called "Competitors Fishing Rod" Edit v13: add in a longest fish caught record, that stores what the longest fish was, size and who caught it. if this is overwritten with a longer fish during any competitions then announce "NEW RECORD!!" along with the new fish details. also increase the maximum fish size to 150cm, but anything over 60 is considered legendary so balance accordingly Edit v14: rebalance so the "competitors Fishing Rod" increases chances of getting longer fish by 10 percent. change legendary status to fish over 100cm. remove the 60cm = legendary text when the fishing competition starts. update description to list how many different fish types are available Edit v15: remove the startup/round message of how many fish are available. and increase the fish pool to include mythical fantasy fish names Edit v16: whilst in creative mode if you right-click the block, it opens a clean and easy GUI menu. tab 1 will be "Reward" which allows the reward to be changed by selecting an item from the hotbar of the player editing the block. tab 2 will be "Reset" which will reset the highest fish record. tab 3 will be a start button to allow for a manual competition start (this doesn't over ride the hourly competition time) Edit v17: fix so when selecting a reward in the menu from the hotbar to also include the quantity. also add a number selector next to the manual start competition button in the menu from 1-60 and use this number for how long a manual competition should be (in minutes) Edit v19: fix so that when you click "start competition (manual) you get asked for a number 1-60 which will determine the length of the manual competition. Add a menu item "Cancel Competition" that stops the current competition Edit v20: edit so when you click the "Manual Competition" button in the GUI menu, open a secondary menu screen with a scroll down list of selectable numbers from 1 to 60. when one of these options is selected a new manual competition will begin with that set number of minutes. Edit v21: add options in the gui for rewards for 2nd and 3rd place, these can be left empty so no rewards are given for these positions. also add in a countdown in the gui until the next planned competition (minutes and seconds). and in the gui add in an information button that displays the mod version, how many types of fish are available, and any important and special information that is needed to know (like what the fishing rod should be called) Edit v22: add the the gui an option to reset the main countdown. also increase the fish pool to include some halloween themed fish. include an option in the GUI to view a list of all available fish Edit v23: add in other seasonal and holiday inspired fish names (Christmas, Easter, Winter) and in the GUI create menu item that is a tickbox that allows to activate and deactivate these categories. Also rename the mod to "Bedrock Fishing Competition Block v" + current version number Edit v24: create a Halloween category in the GUI toggle menu for the halloween fish. and colour code the fish in the view all fish menu, green if they are catchable, red if they are unavailable to catch Edit v25: create a new category of fish "Rare Large Fish", increase the pool to include 10 of these rare large fish and include names like sea serpent, water dragon, megalodon (rename to fit in with a mythic theme). these fish are considered super rare, and are beyond the normal size range. it doesn't matter what fishing rod is used the chance to get one of these super rare fish always stay very low. If one is caught award the player who caught it with a diamond block (create an option in the reward gui for this to be changed. Edit v26: fix so that there is a toggle to make the super rare fish uncatchable in the category filter section of the gui Edit v27: tweak it in the GUI fish list section, the next button is fist and the previous button is second. Also make it so the previous button when your on page 1 goes to the very last page of the fishing list Edit v28: fix so it recognises catching fish again and announces it in the chat Edit v29: if the prize reward is a named or enchanted item, keep the reward as the selected item (enchantments & custom names included) Edit v30: fix to ensure that any enchantments on reward prizes are saved and when the reward is given give the exact prize that was saved. Also make sure save settings and configurable settings (toggleable fish). Edit v31: fix so that rewards keep any enchantments, when setting the prize in the GUI the prize should be an exact replica of the hotbar item Edit v32: create a button in the GUI "Give Fish-opedia" Which gives the player a writable book that lists all the fish Edit v33: add some more fish to the halloween themed fish pool Edit v34: fix all fonts in the GUI to match Edit v35: fix the fish-opedia so that it only gives 1 single book that has the contents of the available fish on the pages Edit v36: Give the fish-opedia book a enchanted look Edit v37: fix so that the fish-opedia book when opened then the pages are filled with the fish names not the description of the item Edit v38: remove the fish-opedia option from the GUI Edit v39: edit so that when no players are online the fishing countdown timer freezes and is saved in memory of the block, when a player joins the world again the countdown continues from the saved time. To set a reward, the player will select an item from their hotbar, and the GUI will save the item, including its quantity and any enchantments or custom names. These fish are considered super rare, and their size ranges from 100cm up to 500cm. The chance of catching these is always extremely low, regardless of the fishing rod used. There is a toggle to make these uncatchable. Tab 4: Information & Records An "Information" button that displays the current mod version, the total number of available fish types, and important information, such as the name of the "Competitors Fishing Rod." A "Reset Highest Fish Record" button. A "View All Fish" button that opens a paginated list of all available fish, color-coded green if catchable and red if not. The page navigation will have the "Next" button first, followed by the "Previous" button. Pressing "Previous" on the first page will loop to the last page. Edit v46: tweak so that when a player joins the world, a message to the player is announced with how long until the next fishing competition is set to begin Edit v48: edit so that the competition only runs if there are more than 1 person online Edit v51: add "History" tab into the GUI, which outlines the previous 5 competitions Edit v52: add in 2 new competition types 'Most Fish Caught' -which rewards the player who catches the most fish during the competition time. and 'Smallest Fish Caught', which rewards a player for the smallest size fish. When a fishing competition begins select a competition type at random between longest fish, smallest fish and most fish. Edit v53: create an option in "Competition Control" tab that allows to change minimum amount of players online for a successful competition to start. Also add a button to "Begin Test Round" that runs a 1 minute competition for players in creative mode to test Edit v54: edit so fishing competitions can start even if there is only 1 player as the minimum player requirement. Edit v55: fix so minimum required players can be set between 1 and 20. and the test round doesn't take note of minimum player requirement. Edit v56: under competition control add a dropdown for competition type and include all competition types plus a randomised option. update the texture of the block Edit v57: edit the mod name to be Bedrock Fishing Competition Block Edit v58: update the texture of the block Edit v59: update the texture of the top of the block only Edit v60: edit the GUI text colours, highlighting important information and titles with different colours. Remove the Tab Summary information from the 1st GUI screen. Remove the word Tab <number> from the buttons just keeping the button names. add the ability to clear 1st place reward. add the ability to clear Rare Large Fish Reward. Edit v61: fix the double fish count when fishing, add a small cooldown between catching a fish and casting the line Edit v63: edit the rewards name for a most fish caught competition to not to include a fish name. Edit v69: add in a sound for when the competition begins which plays to all players, include a dropdown in the GUI competition control - sound effects. which allows to use a dropdown of all goat horn sounds. Then after a competition ends, at the players who got 1st, 2nd and 3rd place launch a firework at their locations, and play a competition end sound to all players, which can be selected the same way as the competition begins sound using goat horn dropdown. Edit v70: fix so the sound effects so it plays if its a automatic competition or a manual competition. Fix the fireworks so 1st place is a yellow firework, 2nd place is a grey firework, and 3rd place is an orange firework. Edit v71: edit the sound effect GUI to accept a command instead of a dropdown of predetermined goat horn sounds. Edit v72: fix the sound effects GUI to open, and include a drop down for the start and end competition sounds that include the horn.call sound effects to be selected Edit v73: fix the firework at the players location to include the full firework with explosion Edit v74: fix the firework to include a firework star of the appropriate colour for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, allow a green firework with charge at all other players who participated in the competition Edit v75: during a competition every minute announce the current top 3 positions. also fix the firework at player position to be a charge firework

User request: create a "Fishing Competition" block, that every hour begins a map wide fishing competition that lasts 10 minutes. within that time players using a fishing rod are given the lure effect, and every fish caught gets a random measurement, along with a random fish name, these are announced in the chat and at at the end of the competition the player with the longest fish is awarded a diamond and results for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place are announced in chat with the measurement Edit v2: fix to remove the lure effect and gives luck of the sea effect instead. also fix so that a player can only catch one fish at a time and doesnt keep spamming the chat when there holding the fishing rod. also give a 5 minutes remaining message, and a 1 minute remaining message, then give a 5 second countdown before the fishing competition finishes. Edit v3: Fix so that only fish caught with a fishing rod count towards the competition and not fish that are dropped on the ground. Also only keep the top longest 3 in memory, and replace as longer fish are recorded. Edit v4: change the crafting recipe so it uses a command block instead of a tripwire hook, also add in more exotic and fantasy style fish names Edit v9: fix so that only operators of the world can place and destroy the block, also update the texture to a command block texture with a fishing rod in the middle of each side. Edit v10: rename the block to "Fishing Competition", update the texture to a higher resolution, and rename the mod to "Bedrock Server Fishing Competition Block", and remove the luck of the sea effect. Edit v11: create a bigger pool of fish that can be caught, including mythical creatures, ocean creatures, biome variants. Edit v12: edit this so that it can be placed and destroyed in creative mode, remove the operator and admin checks. also increase chances of longer fish if player is using a fishing rod called "Competitors Fishing Rod" Edit v13: add in a longest fish caught record, that stores what the longest fish was, size and who caught it. if this is overwritten with a longer fish during any competitions then announce "NEW RECORD!!" along with the new fish details. also increase the maximum fish size to 150cm, but anything over 60 is considered legendary so balance accordingly Edit v14: rebalance so the "competitors Fishing Rod" increases chances of getting longer fish by 10 percent. change legendary status to fish over 100cm. remove the 60cm = legendary text when the fishing competition starts. update description to list how many different fish types are available Edit v15: remove the startup/round message of how many fish are available. and increase the fish pool to include mythical fantasy fish names Edit v16: whilst in creative mode if you right-click the block, it opens a clean and easy GUI menu. tab 1 will be "Reward" which allows the reward to be changed by selecting an item from the hotbar of the player editing the block. tab 2 will be "Reset" which will reset the highest fish record. tab 3 will be a start button to allow for a manual competition start (this doesn't over ride the hourly competition time) Edit v17: fix so when selecting a reward in the menu from the hotbar to also include the quantity. also add a number selector next to the manual start competition button in the menu from 1-60 and use this number for how long a manual competition should be (in minutes) Edit v19: fix so that when you click "start competition (manual) you get asked for a number 1-60 which will determine the length of the manual competition.
